[h=1]6 police officers shot, 1 fatally, in shootings across US[/h]As the officers arrived and began speaking with three people, a fourth person emerged and fired at police, authorities said. O'Dell said three people are in custody, but a fourth remains at large. Authorities say it does not appear that either officer was able to return fire.

Those are the only 2 stations I see reporting that Officer Howard has also died.
