Found Deceased FL - Tia Bonta, 24, Orlando, 31 July 2016

I can't believe that we have nothing new on Tia. Has there been any court movement on JD? Did he not really drop her off at a house like he said?

Community holds vigil for missing woman
Vigil_for_Tia_0_2122920_ver1.0_320_240.jpg

Young mother, Tia Bonta, was last seen at the Golden Corral at East Colonial Dr. and North Alafaya Tr. on July 31.
Sunday night, her family and friends have come together for a candlelight vigil to continue their search for answers.
For the first time Tia's mother, Sherry, spoke out about her daughter's disappearance. “We need to have closure,” she said, “we need to know where our daughter is.
Whatever the outcome, we need to know to be able to sleep at night.”

I'm sure I'm not the only one who checked out her FB page. Seems as though she had some pretty creepy dudes commenting on her pictures. One even saying he wanted to come "see that body" and she told him that he knew where to find her. I wonder if any of these people were looked into?

It really bothers me when these families try to "clean up" their missing loved ones troubled final events.

In that post about the vigil, they now say she was last seen at Golden Corral. NO! She was last seen enmeshed in a shady drug scene whipping around with that scary creep Dellafield between a hotel and a recently raided drug house.

This is what happened with the Maura Murray case. The family whitewashed her life, either in order to appeal to a broader audience or out of embarrassment, and she's never been found either.

I don't care if someone's a druggie or an escort or a troublemaker, I'm all for finding our missing, but please, families, for the love of God, be 100% honest with us so that we can actually help.

I had that exact same reaction, serious creep factor going on.

Here, here I couldn't agree with you more.
It's amazing how some family's try hiding things that would help find there loved ones sooner.
Like only admitting they've got a drug problem somethings months into there child's disappearance.

A passerby called 911 about 12:15 p.m. Sept. 29 after finding skeletal remains near Fort Christmas and Lake Pickett roads. At that time, deputies suspected the bones were human, but did not know for sure.

On Friday, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeff Williamson said further investigation revealed the remains were of a woman.

Officials believe the woman was white and had brown hair. They think she was between the ages of 30 and 55 years old, Williamson said.

Detectives also found several pieces of “very distinctive” jewelry, including gold rings with an emerald-cut jewel and earrings commonly worn on the top portion of one’s ear, WIlliamson said.

Investigators released images of the jewelry to the public in hopes that someone will recognize the items and help identify the woman.

The images included five rings and an industrial piercing piece commonly worn on the top portion of the ear.
The rings included one that had “MOM” engraved on its side, another with an emerald-cut pink ston, an engagement-style ring and two rings with intricate designs and patterns. Most of the rings were gold or copper in color.

“The [MOM] ring itself should trigger somebody’s memory, who this could be if they’ve ever seen it before,” Hernandez said. “So we’re hoping that, along with the other jewelry, will hopefully trigger somebody’s mind to call in who this could be.”

Kevin Bonta said he now wants justice.

Tia Bonta was last seen in the area of Dean Road and University Boulevard in Orange County.

Kevin Bonta said his daughter had been in good spirits the last time he spoke to her. He said she had called him, asking for him to bring her a phone charger. But when he arrived at the hotel where she was staying, she was gone.

[h=1]Human remains confirmed to be of Tia Bonta, private investigator says[/h]
Human remains found late last month in east Orange County are of Tia Bonta, a mother reported missing last year, a private investigator said Tuesday.
"It’s with a heavy heart ... that the remains recovered in East Orange County were those of 'Tia,' James Copenhaver, an Orlando-area private investigator working for Bonta's mother, said in a news release Tuesday evening.

Bonta's mother, Sherry Ellis, was notified by the Orange County Sheriff's Office that the remains found near Fort Christmas Road were of Bonta, Copenhaver said.

The remains of a woman found in Orange County last month belong to Tia Bonta, the Orange County Sheriff Office announced Wednesday.

Bonta, who was 24 when she disappeared, went missing July 31, 2016. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel said the case has now become “an active death investigation.”
A review of the jewelry Bonta wore in pictures on social media shows two distinctive rings that appear to match two of those found with the remains.

Watrel said the Sheriff’s Office made the identification “through forensic techniques.”
Watrel said the Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to “discuss in limited terms what the next steps [in the death investigation] will be.”

Information about Bonta’s death can be reported to Crimeline anonymously at 1-800-423-8477.

According to the Orange County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office, several items of “very distinctive” jewelry were found with the woman’s body, including a silver ring with “MOM” and hearts engraved on the band.

“The jewelry led us in the direction of who it could possibly be,” Orange County sheriff’s detective Peter Hernandez said in a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, noting that the department’s tip line had received numerous submissions based off the ring.

“The unique jewelry broke the case,” added sheriff’s spokeswoman Jane Watrel. “It really helped us move this investigation forward.”
“This is an active death investigation,” detective Hernandez said Wednesday. “The exact cause of death is under examination.”

For now, Bonta’s case remains a mystery — though authorities said foul play is suspected.

Last year, deputies identified a man who was last seen with Bonta six days before she was reported missing. Authorities say that he is no longer a person of interest and has retained an attorney.

Since then, there have been no additional suspects in the case.
