Cherokee mother and baby die mysteriously, 2-year-old survives

A family member requested a welfare check after not hearing from 31-year-old victim, Holly Whitley. Once in the home, deputies located the bodies of the mother and infant, as well as a two-year-old girl who appeared to be unharmed.

"Authorities won't say much about the case, other than they've ruled out foul play. They do not believe this was a murder or a suicide. No one was home when we checked Wednesday morning."

I thought that too when I saw it on the news yesterday but how did the two year old survive?

How sad
I wonder is everyone different when it comes to carbon monoxide? Like different tolerances? I've heard of cases where there are more than one person in the room/house but not all of them die.

Maybe mom ingested something and passed it to baby via breast milk?? I wonder how long she was out of contact with her family? Where is her husband?

Could it have been something the mother ingested and she was breastfeeding the infant? So the two year old was not physically affected?
