1/12/24 Update: Next for ALL pretrial hearing on 2/20/24. 1/16/24 All: Brief. State's reply to defendants' Supplemental Briefs following hearing on 12/1/23. Defendants ask this Court to dismiss the indictment issued against them by the Fulton County grand jury, claiming that all of their actions constituting the crimes charged in the indictment were merely political speech protected by the 1st Amendment. They also claim that many of the statutes charged against them are facially invalid restrictions on core protected political speech. The defendants are wrong... that is all I can read on document.

Trump joins Mike Roman's motion to disqualify Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade based on allegations that they are involved in an "improper" romantic relationship.

"Former President Donald Trump joined a motion to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis Thursday over an alleged romance and other misconduct, characterizing a speech she made at an Atlanta church as "racially charged statements."

Trump attorneys Steve Sadow and Jennifer Little on Thursday adopted a motion originally filed on behalf of codefendant Mike Roman. Earlier this month, Roman's legal team alleged that Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade were engaged in an improper romantic relationship and misused taxpayer funds."

In an affidavit by Wade submitted Friday with Willis' court filing — both obtained by CBS News — Wade stated, "In 2022, District Attorney Willis and I developed a personal relationship in addition to our professional association and friendship. I have no financial interest in the outcome of the 2020 election interference case or in the conviction of any defendant. No funds paid to me in compensation for my role as Special Prosecutor have been shared with or provided to District Attorney Willis."

In the filing, Willis' attorneys responded to the allegations by saying, "This is not an example of zealous advocacy, nor is it a good faith effort to develop a record on a disputed legal issue—it is a ticket to the circus." And the filing condemns the "incredibly inappropriate efforts to intrude into opposing counsel's personal life with little to no evidentiary value."
Fani Willis' court filing confirms romantic relationship with lawyer on Trump case but denies any conflict

DM article about it.
Frankly, I am very angry with her and with Nathan. The stakes are TOO HIGH to have given Trump any extra ammunition to get her thrown off the case.

IMO

Awh, but the irony! Imagine trying to disqualify Willis because of a budding romance when the complainer doesn't disqualify himself after illegally attempting to overturn the entire federal election!
OMG, it's crazy!
