The phone call could have been "something bad is happening" as in he knew he'd overdosed or felt ill from whatever it was?

The friend he was fishing with has a criminal record for "aggravated stalking, criminal trespass and probation violation" in GA.

Previous offences also "sale of marijuana (three counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, maintaining a disorderly house and contributing to the delinquency of a minor."

Was wondering this also. Could have panicked himself when he realized how he was reacting to a drug, dropped his keys by the truck, stumbled around and dropped his phone? Just speculation and moo because they was no obvious sign of trauma.

Eta: O/T but wasn't Covington where the young guy murdered his baby daughter by trauma to the head and buried her in the woods and try to hide drugs? Allegedly murdered his daughter..he's still in jail. Are drugs prevalent in this area?

Yes. 9 miles between the two. In a less affluent area. All the schools are Title 1 schools. Not the "popular" side of the county.

Sounds like an OD or a heart attack. If the guy let him go to the truck and use his phone, he obviously wasn't coercing him into anything or holding him hostage. Unless maybe the guy was doing something bad to someone else that Johnny witnessed, I guess.
