So terribly sad. I wonder what information her younger brother and the other kids were able to offer. And where were the dad and his friend while they played? Who took an unusual interest in her, possibly staring at her? They wanted her body found as they didn't leave it out of sight. I read elsewhere that someone reported a body that night, however her body wasn't found until the next day.
If they have DNA, this case might be solveable. I just hope it hasn't been sitting in a box on a shelf, out of sight, all these years.

What a horrific crime. My guess is that the perp is dead by now, so maybe LE has given the case lower priority. I would think though that even back then, a rape kit was probably done. Unless it’s been lost, somebody like @othram might be able to help if there was funding

(Btw I saw a reference in the thread to Samuel Little. Was / is it thought that there possibly a connection? Was / Is it a crime that he perhaps confessed to (while never being confirmed), - or, was he thought to be in ATL at the time?)
