Tearful fiancé denies being involved in disappearance of his partner and their two-week-old daughter | Daily Mail Online

• Heidi Broussard, 33, and her infant daughter Margot were last seen Thursday morning at Cowan Elementary School in Austin
• Police have said they believe Broussard returned home with Margot sometime before her fiancé, Shane Carey, reported them missing around 7.30pm that night
• Carey has issued multiple pleas for the pair's return in tearful TV interviews
• In a FOX7 interview published Sunday, Carey addressed facing scrutiny over Broussard's disappearance and insisted that he hadn't done anything wrong
• 'I try to ignore that, I don't know how to handle it. But I know it's a question. I just ignore it,' he said. 'I know it's not true. It's negative'
• Authorities have not offered an update in the search since Friday, and it is unclear whether Carey is being treated as a person of interest
• Carey's father Ty Carey set up a Facebook page Sunday morning to raise money for a reward and for 'expenses [incurred] during the search'

"It is without a doubt something that concerns the whole community. There is great concern from our team. We want to make sure there is every last resource that applies," said Brandon Goering, TEXSAR board vice chairman.

The non-profit offers trained search teams and cadaver dogs plus consulting services for law enforcement agencies. "We provide consultation as far as lost person behavior," said Goering. "There's a lot of science and statistics that go into the different lost person behavior types."

In order for the agency to step in, APD would have to request for their help. Something he says hasn't happened yet. "Quite often when they get a narrowed search area and some place that they can apply those assets, that's when we will be called in," Goering said.

According to Austin Police, detectives are actively working the case and haven't been able to step away to give on-camera interviews.

Volunteer agency, Texas Search and Rescue says they have not been called to assist in the search. "Quite often when they get a narrowed search area or someplace where they can apply those assets that's when we'll be called in," says TEXSAR Vice President Brandon Goering.

Despite silence from law enforcement, he's confident investigators are leaving no stone unturned. "This is different in that it seems that there are a lot of details that law enforcement is exploring that rightfully so isn't privy to the general public," says Goering.

Monday evening, CBS Austin spoke with Heidi's mother Tammy over the phone. Tammy says she's in Austin actively searching for Heidi and Margot -- she says despite social media speculation there have been no changes in the case.

FBI, Texas Rangers joining search for missing Austin mother, baby

• APD plan to give an update on their search on Tues, but Mon evening, KVUE learned that the FBI and Texas Rangers are joining the search.
• Investigators said they are trying to remain neutral and not jump to any conclusions.
• They are working the case from two possible angles: that HB left on her own and that they are victims of foul play.
• LE is scouring forensic data and conducting on-the-ground investigation, including interviewing all of HB's close friends and family and in some cases building a timeline of their whereabouts and alibis.
• Investigators are also looking at hours and hours of video, not only from the apt. complex but also from nearby businesses.
• They have knocked on every door in the complex to interview neighbors and they have done an analysis of the apartment for any possible forensic evidence.
• So far, investigators say they haven't turned up anything that firmly indicates anything one way or another.
• The entire Homicide Cold Case/Missing Persons Unit of the APD – a total of about 7 investigators – is investigating this case and as of Mon night, they have asked for and gotten help from outside law enforcement as well.

If anyone sees them or knows of their whereabouts, please call 9-1-1 immediately. We will provide updates as they become available.

The briefing time for the news conference is at 1 p.m. at APD Headquarters, 715 East 8th St.

• The pair were reported missing by Broussard's fiance Shane Carey, who is also Margot's father, at 7.30pm that night
