Maui Police Evidence Specialist Anthony Earls said he conducted presumptive testing on various pieces of clothing including stains on a green blanket, long black skirt, blue tank top with polka dots, gray hooded jacket and black jeans to determine if the items should be forwarded for further testing to a DNA laboratory.

As each item was entered into evidence, Earls described his observations saying, the black skirt that family members said belonged to Scott had “reddish stains on it–mainly on one side. In other words, there’s an exterior surface and an interior surface, using the seem as depicting which would be the interior. So, I noticed stains on the exterior surface of that black skirt.”

“The material of the skirt had numerous holes in one region of the skirt,” said Earls saying the stains were on the same side as the holes.”

Which is why I believe she was stabbed in her car near or before Twin falls ( Because he uses Twin Falls in his excuse. Because they have a very large and long Pull-out for the throngs of tourist) and driven to Paraquats. She probably started putting up a fuss and he pulled over to calm her down. By killing her and Joshua. Reaching over from the drivers seat and stabbing like Nikki said.

I think he stabbed her from the window. Like he was standing outside her driver's window and she was in the driver's seat. How else do you explain the lack of (more) blood on his sweatshirt? Once she's subdued, he pushes her into the passenger seat and drives off fast. Maybe she was still moving and he stabs her in the back a few times near her right shoulder. Once at Keanae he drags her out of the car in her green blanket with a machete in hand and takes her to the tree area. I know he wasn't making trips up and down the road for tools. He used the handle of the machete to butt her jawbone and stop her from groaning in pain. Used his belt knife to try and remove her jawbone, coming up underneath her chin and cutting off the tip of her tongue in the process.

SC liked gore. Vegetarian or not, he posted pics of the shed where his dogs were fighting over a bunny. It had blood everywhere! He was proud of it in his comments. And he had banana trees on his property, he would have owned a machete to cut them down.

Her phone probably fell out of the car when he pulled her out and went into the mud. The tires may have backed up over the phone, pushing it down further. He's rushing, trying to keep his s--- together and figure out what to do with Nala. He could've sent Nala through the stream to clean her off. All he had left to get rid of was her keys and laptop.

One of the fires was started in the passenger footwell. If he slumped her over while he drove, her blood drains out there.

If she's in the passenger seat and he attacks her from outside the vehicle through the window her right jaw would be the target. But, the knife marks went up through the side of the chin, right? So that wouldn't make much sense if attacking her this way you'd think the knife marks would be going down. So what angle is she that the cut marks go up?

She might have even slumped into the footwell while he drove and her blood pools there. There must've been a ton of evidence in the passenger front seat area for him to want to start the fire there.

Yes I gotcha. : ) I was just thinking out loud. Thinking thinking thinking What the heck happened? I was visualizing. Her right jaw which had the damage would be accessible from the passenger side of the truck. That's if the attack on her face was at that point in her truck.
Is it at all possible that if he attacked her in her truck and left her at Parquats, that when he came back there was slippage on the face from the previous attack?

Or lets say she is slumped over towards the left in the passenger seat, and he slightly ajar the truck door. If he uses his left hand to strike, that would be an upward motion through the chin as testimony explains. Jars the door so no one sees him? Just guessing and wondering outloud.

Or he tried, with very limited time to deflesh and dismember. I'm having a hard time with this. Haven't got to that acceptance part yet.

lol. You have a good memory, I haven't thought of my Charli poem in ages. If I ever write a book about this case, I'll include it in an appendix. ;-)

I think I have finally arrived at the "acceptance" stage. I accept that little in this case makes sense.

I'm not at "acceptance" yet, I think I'm still in the "denial" stage where I think everything will come together like a perfect jigsaw puzzle and it'll all make sense. I'm still trying to make all the pieces fit together. But I also believe in Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny, so yeah... lol

An accomplice, perhaps. And if I had to suggest one, the first one who pops into my head is the person whose initials are MM - and I'm NOT talking about MamaMerced. lol

I'm talking about the young fella' who disappeared in summer 2014 for a while, and I know that police have also interrogated him specifically about this case. Not sure what came of it.

Maybe she thoought they were just out for a cruise so they could talk because they couldnt talk at Grampas...So they drove until the got down to the bottom of Kapakalua and he turned right towards Hana. Once that is done its the Hana Hwy. You come out the way you came in. Or go around. So now she is upset. Twin Falls is a couple miles down the road on a straight away. Its dark. She is fighting mad. He pulls over.

I'm curious about him as well, Moxie, largely because of the timing of his disappearance. I believe I read on here that MM is on the witness list.

With all the information against SC, I would speculate that Apo will eventually tell SC the jury is going to find him guilty and in order to reduce the sentence, SC will have to enter a plea bargain like revealing exactly what happened? Am I wrong with this speculation?

The tape rolls were found by the green blanket and the gray hoodie and men's pants, near the stream. So it's not likely they are not part of the crime.

Moxie, really good point that two partially used rolls of tape in the same place would suggest two people, each using one of the rolls. I wish we had more testimony about the rolls. Phaedra initially called them two empty rolls or duct tape. Then someone else (Molly or Max maybe?) said it was actually masking tape and the rolls were partially used, but I never heard an exact careful description.

With Phaedra's first and only glance being near dark and in a distraught state, but she perceived the rolls as empty, I'm guessing they were pretty well used (but not entirely).

Masking tape doesn't have much strength stall compared to duct or strapping tape, but the stickiness might be OK if it is used on something that grabs like a fibrous blanket.

To me the simplest theory is that all or parts of Charli were wrapped in the blanket and left out there, and the tape was used to keep the blanket in place. Then he came back and did something with the remains and left the blanket and clothing.

The hoodie was not necessarily what he was wearing when he killed her. It's not spattered all over. To me the blood on the lower sleeves might indicate he wore it when "working" on handling bloody remains on a subsequent day or night.

The zip ties were near the bloody jeans at Kaumahina, not with the tape.
I thought that Phaedra originally said gloves were found with the items on Thursday, that it was part of her list, but nothing has been said further, anyone recall that?
