Hoffman was last seen in August 2019 in the ʻUlupalakua Ranch area. He parked his van on the side of the road near mile marker 20 of Kula Highway and walked off into the field heading down the mountain. He was reported missing on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019. Searches conducted in the area was unsuccessful. There has been no contact or sightings since then and he failed to show up for a court appearance. There is no information to suggest Hoffman used commercial transportation means to leave Maui at this time.
