*Hearing for both (@ 10am Hawaiian-Aleutian Time) - HI - Telma Boinville (51) (Dec. 6, 2017, Oahu) – *Stephen Brown (23/now 26) & *Hailey Kai Dandurand (20/now 23) arrested (12/13/17), charged & arraigned (12/18/17) with 2nd degree murder, 2 counts kidnapping & 1st degree burglary. Both plead not guilty. SB bail $1M, KD bail $500K. Bond reduction denied for HD (8/25/20).
Telma’s 8 yr. old daughter was found bound & gagged with duct tape.
Trial was set to begin for both on 8/9/21 continued to 3/14/22.

Trial on 8/9/21 will probably be continued. 7/9/21 Update: Next Calendar Call hearing on 7/27/21. Present: Both defendants not present. Mr. Goo requested presence be waived. Court o waived for purposes of this hearing. Court stated it was in receipt of the motion. Mr. Goo requested authorization to issue SDT. State had no position. Court granted & scheduled return date for 8/4/21. *Motions Hearing for both (@ 1pm Hawaiian-Aleutian Time) - HI - Telma Boinville (51) (Dec. 6, 2017, Oahu) – *Stephen Brown (23/now 26) & *Hailey Kai Dandurand (20/now 23) arrested (12/13/17), charged & arraigned (12/18/17) with 2nd degree murder, 2 counts kidnapping & 1st degree burglary. Both plead not guilty. SB bail $1M, KD bail $500K. Bond reduction denied for HD (8/25/20).
Telma’s 8 yr. old daughter was found bound & gagged with duct tape.
Trial was set to begin for both on 3/14/22 continued on 3/21/22 & continued to 6/20/22.

12/8/21 Update: Telephonic hearing: Discussion re expert witnesses for defendant Dandurand. Mr. So'Oalo stated none at this time & was unable to obtain experts. State requested the Court cut off. Court stated more than ample time to obtain experts & was supposed to be lined up by today & will not be allowed. State provided complete discovery. Mr. Goo will file Motion to reconsider Motion to sever, previously was denied & stated could go first. State noted read. Attorneys Goo & So'Oalo stated both ready as well. Wednesday, August 31st:
*Status Hearing for both (@ 1pm Hawaiian-Aleutian Time) - HI - Telma Boinville (51) (Dec. 6, 2017, Oahu) – *Stephen Brown (23/now 27) & *Hailey Kai Dandurand (20/now 24) arrested (12/13/17), charged & arraigned (12/18/17) with 2nd degree murder, 2 counts kidnapping & 1st degree burglary. Both plead not guilty. SB bail $1M, KD bail $500K. Bond reduction denied for HD (8/25/20).
Telma’s 8 yr. old daughter was found bound & gagged with duct tape.
Trial was set to begin for both on 6/20/22 continued to 10/3/22.

4/6/22 Update: Telephonic status hearing held. Defense moving to continue & to file written motion. State noted ready. TC & Motions advanced from 5/20/22 to 4/19/22 at 8:30am.
4/19/22: Judge Rowena Somerville presiding. Defendant Brown with attorney William Bagasol, defendant Dandurand with attorney Barry So'Oalo. State declared ready for trial. Mr. Bagasol noted recently appointed & requested continuance due to voluminous discovery. Mr. So'Oalo joined in the request to continue. Court addressed defendants & explained waiving their rule 48 & speedy trial rights. Both acknowledged their understanding & waived same. Over State's objection, Court granted continuance of trial. Next status hearing on 7/27/22 @ 1pm. Calendar Call hearing on 9/20/22 @ 8:30am & trial set to begin on 10/3/22. Calendar Call hearing on 5/20/22 has been vacated. Pretrial motions deadline on 9/5/22.

Trial delayed again for defendants in 2017 murder of Telma Boinville

Trial for the two suspects charged with the 2017 murder of Telma Boinville, has been delayed yet again. The case has already been pushed back dozens of times.
