Unfortunately things like this happen to many families as well. They also will do live searches for the loved one hoping to find them alive.

It does seem cruel, I certainly will admit that, but the police cant reveal what they have uncovered in their investigation that may be leading them to believe that the victim has indeed been murdered. I have never seen them do it.

Even in Sierra Lamar's case they quickly had zeroed in on the POI turned suspect, but they didn't breathe a word to anyone about Torres until he was arrested and charged with Sierra's death. Before the arrest the police kept saying they hoped that Sierra would be found alive. They didn't even say a word when they knew that Marlene and Rick(her boyfriend) were being found guilty 24/7 before the arrest of Torres by the internet masses.

What they know behind the scene is totally different than what they say publicly. But until they know beyond all doubt (based on irrefutable evidence) their hope always remains that the victim will be found alive.

Do you honestly believe all we know about Adams now that TBI/FBI believed Holly would be found safe? I'm not buying they're that stupid.

I've also seen cases where they announce the POI. God knows they had enough on Adams apparently but yet they let the public continue to suspect Clint or Drew or any of the other innocent people (ex boyfriends) etc. As a matter of fact, they continued to say nobody was ruled out.

I don't follow Sierras case so can't really comment.

So many good points n/t! We think alike, and what you mentioned in posts above is why I have apprehension about just how much solid (non-circumstantial) evidence they have against ZA.

I still feel like there was pressure to have someone arrested before the fast approaching 3-year anniversary. Now, it's just my feeling, with nothing more than that...

What do you folks think about a plea-deal?
Not knowing what evidence there is against ZA I have mixed feeling.
I wonder how the family feels about that....

If Holly's remains haven't been found, I think a plea deal will be on the table. IMO the Bobos will want to give Holly a proper funeral/memorial and burial.

No, I do not believe that at all, just like I didn't believe LE when they said they hoped to bring Sierra home alive. They knew behind the scenes it was highly doubtful that would ever happen but at that time there had been no arrest of the suspect, which means, at that time when they were saying this, they didn't have the proof/evidence needed to show that Torres had indeed murdered Sierra.

It has nothing whatsoever about being stupid for stupid they aren't. But they cant say that someone is dead before they have proof/evidence of it. That is why in countless other cases that end with the victim being murdered LE has said the very same thing before an arrest was made.

Unless the case happens to be in a Sunshine Law state we never know very much about what the evidence entails so this one isn't any different regarding that aspect. If it isn't in a sunshine state then we may get glimpses of the evidence through bond hearings or a preliminary hearing which did not happen in this case. So I don't expect any of the evidence to be made known before the trial begins.

I cant speak for the Bobos but I have been reading for decades about other families under the same set of circumstances the Bobos find themselves in. What I find most common in their thought processes is they absolutely detest the very thought of plea deals. From the families I have seen speak out about plea deals they feel that is like bartering with the devil himself/herself and giving the murderer control and the upper hand. Especially if the murder was premeditated as I think this one was.

I would think due to the senseless brutal nature of this aggravated kidnapping and murder of their lovely defenseless daughter they want Adams to receive the maximum punishment allowed in a court of law.

Not revealing the evidence is common unless like I said it happens to be in a sunshine state. It certainly, by no means, means it is a weak case. Since this was the most high profile case in TNs history to date when Adams was arrested they knew they had amassed a very strong case against him and can prove it BARD in a courtroom.

There will be no need for the DA to accept a plea in this case, IMO. They have what they need to finally take his worthless a** down for good.

Something/someone led them to the Adams property to search. They brought in excavators to dig , cadaver dogs and were sifting dirt. Furthermore, they searched the well.

They were not looking for a live Holly but yet the statement was made by TBI that they hoped to find Holly alive and bring her home safely to her family. On that same day.

I think it's disgraceful and disrespectful to the family. IIRC, the community even held a vigil that same day. A hope for Holly vigil.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this topic. I have read how the Bobos were treated by LE and I pray I'm never in their shoes because I don't think I would handle it as well as they have. That goodness for their faith in God.

Sadly, they also let Marlene hold out hope that Sierra was alive even though they knew behind the scenes it really wasn't true.:(

I agree, that families can be treated very badly by LE sometimes. For instance Mark Lunsford, his mother, and father went through pure hell when Jessica was missing and not found yet. LE accused them of being involved......accused an 68 year old grandmother of lying when she wasn't. And all during this time that they were putting the grieving family through hell......Couey was right up under LEs nose, raping and torturing Jessica for three days, until he finally suffocated her to death, and put her under his porch. All the while the police were over at the Lunsfords right across the street from where Couey was doing all of this. That little girl was alive for three days. I will always believe that LE in that case also has Jessica's blood on their hands.

So tragically a lot of police departments don't do the right thing by families.

So yes, I agree, sometimes LE do terribly wrong things to innocent families.

But time and time again before an arrest has been made LE tells the community and family 'they "HOPE" to bring the victim back alive.

    I'm confused.

Who here has accused Clint or Drew?

But if true that they have been falsely accused, there again it is the same thing that has happened in countless other cases. I could fill up a page where the internet masses got it wrong and it was not the suspect that had been speculated about.

Most every police department I have ever seen never rules anyone out. The only case I can even remember where it did happen was in Jessica Ridgeway's case and they ruled out the parents due to them having alibis. Other than that one case I cant ever remember LE coming out and specifically naming someone by name as being ruled out before a suspect has even been arrested and charged.

LE isn't into the public relations department. They aren't there to clear people publicly. They have left so many innocent families over the years twisting in the wind while they were being accused falsely night and day by the internet masses. It only finally stopped once the real suspect was arrested and charged and some didn't even stop then. Then some thought they were smarter than the police who actually gathered the evidence to arrest the REAL suspect.:banghead:

You should really read about Sierra's case. What police said in that case and this one have similarities. So sad......Marlene was always full of hope that the searchers would find her daughter alive. The searchers still look for her daughter's body even though years have passed.:(

I have followed so many cases through the years (maybe too many LOL) so I have seen these very same statements made by other LE. So what they said before they arrested Adams isn't something new that I have never seen before.

    IMO

Thank you so much for the link, Wonless. And yes, I did miss this broadcast somehow.

I listened but I didn't see a connection being made about the receipts found in her purse that tied to Adams. Just that receipts had been found.

Also the newscaster said Holly knew Adams but then he skipped right over how she knew him. I do think she knew him or knew him by sight but I still don't think she ever associated with this strung out meth head.

But it did get me to thinking when they mentioned the receipts found. It made me think they may have video footage of Holly in a store somewhere soon before she was taken and it made me wonder if Adams could have walked in behind her in whatever store she was at. That would be interesting if it was like the day before she went missing. It could mean he was already stalking her movements before he took her the next day.

    Thanks again.

    IMO

It's not a secret that TBI needs some 'growing up' to do in these cases...they keep silent far too much about these things, and it's sad because we are NOT a low crime rate state. We rank way way up there in violent crimes. It's a very common conversation I have had with many LE here, how bad it is here in this beautiful state on the surface.

No problem. ;) Shawn Adkins has been the only POI in HD's case for the last 3 years; still no arrest and they have her remains. Zach Adams was a POI from day one, it took LE 3 years to get an arrest, and they have proof of death( maybe even remains).

I probably didn't explain it well. What I was trying to say is sometimes it takes years to get enough evidence to arrest the POI--with or w/o remains. hth

My point was if they knew about ZA 3 years ago, the family should have been ruled out immediately. I've followed many cases throughout the years as well.

I'm sorry Sierra's family had to go through the same nightmare.

BTW IIRC, Jessica Lunsford was buried alive. OT

RE: Receipts being found tied to ZA

Oceanblueeyes, you may want to listen/watch the video again. I had posted the TV 4 link a few pages back when we were discussing whether remains were located during the Feb 28/2014 search. As I was viewing the video the verification of the receipts being located as well as the location of the find caught my attention. The receipts from HB's book bag being located, imo, were only rumor up until this point(not verified by TBI). There was talk among searchers on the Easter search that receipts and school papers from her book bag had been located during a search in the days after her abduction. If my memory is correct, it was also reported on the WOW series..
According to the TV 4 video linked below the receipts were located in the woods adjacent to ZA's property. Imo, the receipts would have been dated and possessed by HB prior to 04/13/2011.
