The right side of the hurricane is the worst, or "dirty" side.I always thought the land to the "east" of the storm was the worst side to be on and that's where Jamaica lies............

Dean is still approaching Jamaica. Right now Dean is about 60 miles from Kingston, Jamaica, on the outer edge of Dean's hurricane force winds, about 75mph winds. Over the next 3-4 hours the eye will continue to move closer to Jamaica, and the wind speeds will increase as Dean moves closer. The winds at the eye are 145mph, with gusts up to 180mph, so Jamaica will get hammered.
