Hurricane Florence - September 2018

  • #101
Given the conditions and emergency response required, it seems extremely unlikely a football game between the Knights and Tar Heels would be played in Chapel Hill, N.C. UNC officials said they were in touch with UCF and had not yet decided how to handle sporting events scheduled this week on campus.

For now, both teams are preparing as though a game will be played, although some UCF fans have posted on social media they are already canceling hotel reservations to free up spots for local North Carolina residents who may need shelter due to the storm.

Thank you ;)

I experienced Hurricane Hugo and hope Florence isn’t going to be like that.

Doing prep just in case. Hotel rooms are filling up in Columbia, Charlotte and Asheville.

Not as much as I should. I'll move stuff inside tomorrow and I've started freezing water.

ETA: Did you see the jump in wind speed? Scary stuff...

it is better for everyone tho they are sending out more trips this is 12 instead of 2 pm -- when the last one was 11!

drop in pressure of 20--that is bad -- there is like lag in the winds building - she is on a roar

i do thank you for the red my dear!

IMO the pressures are like a physic!

did you open map in link where i asked if ya starting -- they moved the cone a bit more over N FL-- i thought of you when I saw that

Thanks JerseyGirl!

The Ventusky projection now seems to be showing Florence close to shore on 13th, just off shore on 14th, pushed slightly back out to sea on 15th and making landfall on 16th/17th.
