She was booked in8/11/2017. She is probably being held on a Fugitive From Justice charge, which is what they hold you on when you go to another state with an out-of-state active warrant. She is probably awaiting extradition to Iowa, if she waved her right to fight it. If she did, Iowa has to go pick her up very soon.

Another recent report of missing women in Webster County recently ended with the discovery of the remains of Jessica Gomez, 26, of Fort Dodge, and the arrest of Mackenzie Knigge, 26, of Clare, on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with her death. Knigge remains in the Tippecanoe County Jail in Indiana, awaiting extradition to Iowa. Another suspect in the death of Gomez, Phillip A. Williams, 25, of Lafayette, Indiana, also awaits extradition on a first-degree murder charge.

Phillip A. Williams, 26, of Lafayette, Indiana, is set to have his trial begin on Sept. 11.

He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Jessica Gomez, 26, of Fort Dodge, last August in Clare.

Williams pleaded not guilty to the charge on Monday.

He and Mackenzie Knigge, 27, of Clare, who is also charged with first-degree murder, are accused of killing Gomez in Knigge’s Clare apartment “on or about” Aug. 5, 2017.

A judge rescheduled Williams’ trial for March 5, 2019. Williams was originally scheduled to go on trial starting Sept. 11, but last week his attorney filed a motion requesting the trial be moved back, saying she did not have enough time to examine all of the evidence in the case prior to the original trial date.

Williams’ trial will now be held after that of Mackenzie Knigge, 27, of Clare, who is also charged with first-degree murder in Gomez’s death. Knigge’s trial is set for Nov. 26.

Husband, children of slain Iowa woman whose body was burned sue murder suspect

Gomez's husband, Rodolfo Gomez, sued one of the defendants, Mackenzie Lee Knigge, 27, for wrongful death and punitive damages on behalf of himself and Gomez's minor children. In the lawsuit, Gomez's relatives said they have suffered physical and mental pain from Knigge's alleged actions.

Jury selection begins Tuesday and opening statements will follow after a jury is seated.

Investigators say Knigge and Gomez were friends, and both were having a relationship with Williams.

Mackenzie Knigge, 27, of Clare, was scheduled to go on trial starting Tuesday in Webster County District Court. She’s charged with first-degree murder in the August 2017 death of Jessica Gomez, 26, of Fort Dodge.

The decision to move the trial to Story County — and push the date of the trial back to June 10, 2019 — came after potential jurors were asked to fill out questionnaires about their knowledge of the case.

Knigge is not the only person charged in the case. Phillip Williams, 26, of Lafayette, Indiana, has also been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

His trial is scheduled for March 5, 2019.
