At Mollie’s funeral, DJ was included in ceremony & survivors as “the love of her life”. Given that she will never have the chance to marry or have children… this designation seemed so significant & so comforting to her parents.

Which is why this focus on DJ’s indiscretion is SO DISGUSTING. In a way, the Freses are attacking- or tainting- this comforting fact of DJ & MT’s bond.

I mean.. the Defense has been going on about DJ for several days now so I guess I don't understand why the jury had to leave ??

If it cant be discussed in front of the jury, the ones who will decide CBR fate, then why discuss it at all ??

This is done often. The prosecution wanted this line of questioning to stop, kept on objecting. Better to be done outside of jury. Judge wanted more info from witness.

But CBR still led LE to her body. He still had Mollie’s blood in the trunk of his car. He still admitted to LE that the security video showed his car, showed a woman jogger. He admitted he was driving that car by making up a story about going to his uncle’s for a vacumn cleaner. And the defense has still not addressed or refuted any of that.

At trial, impeachment is the process of attacking the accuracy of witnesses' testimony. The purpose here is to attack the credibility of DJ and imply jurors should be suspicious of him and his alibi. Defense's job is to create reasonable doubt that CBR killed Mollie.

It really is so sad. They are making this seem like this affair was the heart of their relationship. DJ is not on trial so this girl he slept with once years ago and occasionally got a "sext" from is not interesting or relevant to her murder. I wonder if they will next imply the other girl did it! Have to cover all the bases after all.

Ah, this agent is the one who saw the blur that was Mollie Tibbetts running on the security camera. He didn't have much to do with the footage outside of this, but this was a fulcrum in the case.
