I just saw this on Facebook. At least now we know where he is; now, we need to find out how he got there, and by whom if it wasn't an accident.

Body found in Poweshiek County field identified as Xavior Harrelson's

The Iowa Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that a body found in a rural field Sept. 30 is that of Xavior Harrelson, an 11-year-old Montezuma boy missing since May 27.

The Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office announced the finding in a posting on its Facebook page Friday night. It said it was not immediately releasing the cause of his death.

By SO saying that they are not immediately releasing the cause of death, I hope that means that they were able to determine the cause. It sounds like they know, but are just not able to release it yet. I was worried that they might not be able to due to the length of time that had passed before he was found. One thing for sure, he didn't walk to that field.

Please let there be justice for Xavior

Just seeing this now. My heart breaks for Xavior. Horribly!!!! God bless this boy!

We all knew it was our sweet boy but that doesn't make confirmation any less jolting. So sad for you, honey. There's no justice tough enough! :(

Mitch Mortvedt, assistant director of the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, said Xavior's death was being investigated as suspicious.

I'm hoping the cause of death is announced in conjunction with the announcement of an arrest of the individual(s) that caused Xavior to be recovered in a soybean field a few miles away from his home.

I don't think this was a random attack and more than anything I want the children of Poweshiek County to go to sleep and not fear they will disappear from their homes overnight. MOO

What a cute little boy he was. I hope justice comes soon; I've already lost patience with this case. I've taped my mouth shut for the time being.

Good idea - don't want to see you "missing".... ;)

At this point I’m starting to wonder if it makes sense to consider Xavior might have gotten into that field on his own. I don’t think it’s feasible that he could have wandered over from the trailer park, but it would make sense if he found himself dropped off in the middle of nowhere. And that spot, even by rural Iowa standards, is the middle of nowhere.

(snipped by me)

It’s too late for that. Fair disclosure, I’m from a neighboring county, but fear has spread throughout all the rural communities and the signs of that are impossible to ignore. This ain’t Mayberry and maybe it was naive to assume it ever was.

What 10 year old wouldn’t at least stay by the road? There are half a dozen houses within a mile of where his body was found.

I’m fully in the he was murdered and dumped camp.

The kind that’s terrified of what’s on the road.

I don’t understand. You think someone abducted him, drove him 4 miles and then sat by the road to keep him there and scared until he died of dehydration? Surely that would have been suspicious to everyone in the area.

What would be the purpose of abduction and then just dropping him off a few miles away unharmed?
