Yes. Bowerman seemed much more sure that they were suspects than Sheriff Penner has since he took office. Not sure why that is.

I thought he was a friend of the family but can’t recall the exact connection.

EDIT just found this in a post from 2016: “Penner is something like the mom's second cousin on her moms side.”

Worth remembering also that BOTH the PI’s that the family engaged ditched the case because they were suspicious of the parents. I always thought that was bizarre since they were on the payroll to find to them innocent.
