Ya, I read that somewhere too. I think in the complaint the grandma filed against her daughter re custody for the oldest son.

Loving dad would carry his gun around too while dressed in uniform. Insane living conditions for these poor kids.

This is what I'm thinking too.

May not have matched up to where they claimed to be.

Well, if there is anything good to come of it, they won't be able to claim he slipped and hit his head during a shower spanking.

"craniocerebral trauma as a consequence of multiple blunt force injuries."

No expert here, but it sure sounds like his little head was repeatedly smashed with something very hard. A rage attack? I wonder which one actually did this...

I'd think they would be more likely to commit suicide rather than get murdered. I hope they are being watched closely. No easy way out by suicide.

Very articulant, heart felt and so true.

I live in a small community and we may dance to a different beat. Lots of farms, neighbors know each other and everybody knows your business. We take care of each other and those that don't have rarely go without. There's a free meal everyday at lunch and dinner and all are welcome.

But, times are a changing in our little piece of heaven, due to opioids. It's stealing, our good folks and turning them into criminals. We have to lock our doors, send food home with kids, cause the food stamps were sold.

I agree, thousands of dollars of counseling are not going to cure a drug addict or fix the problem. Jails are over flowing, judges have no choice but order probation, and there will never be enough foster homes. And NO state funds for rehab., but we can spend another 10 million on a new study to tell us about needle exchange, free Narcan, on and on, so drug addicts don't suffer. Doesn't this keep them addicted when, we provide these things.

Yes, it's broke. We are going in a circle.

I know I'm behind but, when I read about the cold water AGAIN, I couldn't believe it. Again with the cold water. That's like torture. That's what they did to Concentration Camp inmates at Auschwitz. That was one of their "experiments". WTF?

Since when does this become a "thing" to do to a child? Poor poor AJ. That poor little boy. My heart is just broken. Absolutely broken.

I'm sorry that you took this so personal. But reading the documents there was ample opportunity for the state to step in and rescue him....as well as the other 98 children who have died while being placed back into violent homes. Obviously there is a problem. There is enough blood on this one for everyone involved.

Almost 100 children died last year in cases involving DCFS

Thanks for the link to the report. Being a nerd, I'll read every word.

I notice the article was, quick to pass judgement, but with general comments. No reference to how many cases where DCPS was to blame, or case examples. It was a total of 100 kids died, not they killed a hundred kids.

I'll reserve judgement til I read the facts and will summarize the specific cases, identify the failure, and the number of cases.

Has anyone read the actual report?

No, the fact that various complaints were made does not automatically mean that the State had ample opportunity to rescue him.

Removing children from a home in a democratic society can be legally very difficult. That can be doubly so when one of the parents is an attorney. If the complaints do not demonstrate the required legal standard (very high), then the child cannot legally be removed from the home.
