only for *Carlos J. Acosta (54) arrested, charged & indicted (9/10/20) & arraigned (9/24/20) with 2 felony counts of endangering the life of a child & 1 felony count of reckless conduct. $20K bond (bonded out 9/10/20). Plead not guilty. $2K bond.

11/5/20 Update: Acosta: Defense’s motion to continue hearing. Status hearing continued to 1/27/21. 1/27/21 Update: Acosta: Next status hearing re subpoena request & set trial date on 3/10/21. Status hearing on 3/10/21 was cancelled, next status hearing on 3/26/21.
*Andrew R. Polovin (48) arrested, charged & indicted (9/10/20) & arraigned (9/17/20) with 2 felony counts of endangering the life of a child & 1 felony count of reckless conduct. Plead not guilty. $20K bond. (bonded out 9/11/20).

1/27/21 Update: Polovin: Next status hearing re subpoena request & set trial date on 3/10/21. 3/10/21 Update: Hearing was held and status (trial date) hearing continued to 4/28/21.
*JoAnn D. Cunningham (35/now 36) – 12/5/19: Plead guilty. Sentenced on 7/17/20 to 35 years in prison.
*Andrew T. Freund, Sr. (60/now 61) – 9/18/20: Plead guilty. Sentenced on 9/18/20 to 30 years in prison. Will help prosecutors with case against welfare workers. On Jan. 21, the ARDC announced Andrew T. Freund, licensed as an attorney since 1984, had been disbarred after being convicted last year of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated battery of a child and concealment of a homicidal death.
