“Schaumburg police are requesting the public's help in locating a missing and endangered village resident.

Sureel Dabawala, 34, who lives with her family in Schaumburg, was reported missing on Jan. 1 after failing to return home on Dec. 30.

Due to a medical condition, Dabawala's family and Schaumburg police are concerned about her well-being.

She was last seen driving her 2011 white Lexus sedan with Illinois license plate L411736. Dabawala has been known to frequent the Chicago area as well as neighboring suburbs.

Anyone who sees her or her described vehicle is asked to immediately call 911 to report the sighting. If you have any information, please contact Schaumburg Police Department Investigations at (847) 882-3534 or investigations@schaumburg.com.“

Schaumburg police seek missing woman

Here's an update. Her body was found wrapped in a blanket in the trunk. Death is being investigated as a "death investigation" rather than a "homicide investigation". Wrapping the body usually means the person placing her in the trunk cared about her though the blanket could have been used to make it less obvious that a body was going into the trunk. Drug or alcohol overdose? The parents said she had a "medical condition" but did not elaborate. Prayers for her family - how hard this has to be for them. • The car was found by private investigators hired by SD's family.
  • After finding her, the investigators called Chicago police as well as Dabawala's father — who had a key to the vehicle and was able to open the trunk. :(
  • The initial report didn't mention any type of trauma on the victim's body.
  • The Cook County ME's office confirmed the body was SD on Tuesday morning and an autopsy was scheduled later Tuesday.
  • DB's sister said she had an outgoing personality and was highly educated.
  • "This is someone who had her MBA from Loyola," her unnamed sister told the outlet. "She was a very smart girl, a very lively person. It's just devastating."
  • No arrests have been made.
