Gordons grandfather, Uly Gordon, of Youngstown, Ohio, said his grandson called him from jail Thursday to tell him he is not the killer. Uly Gordon said he spoke to him only for a few minutes, but is convinced his grandson is innocent.
He said, This is not right. They got the wrong guy, said Uly Gordon, 74. He was stressed and he told me he didnt do it. I believe him.

Article also states that the witness is someone at the trucking school. That makes sense because it would be someone who knows MG so there can be no claim of mistaken identity.
Of course MG's stressed. He just got caught killing an innocent young man.
