Any chance he did something similar to animals? Any history of animals barbarically killed in that area during these years? In the same manner?

I have wondered the same Charlot123 I wouldn’t be surprised.

Sigh.

Who the H is BG?!
(It’s “like” my number one question in life)

One day hopefully soon we will know Margarita25. I can’t wait to see him in court in an orange jumpsuit and shackles. Don’t give up hope.

The information re: the vehicle parked is vital as to exit route and strategy which I’ve always wondered about. I always imagined a truck on the side of the freeway just behind the tree line but I was wrong, seems he chose a parking lot. Thank you for the visuals on that.

I was thinking about how I want to visit the crime scenes and it felt scary and I wanted someone to hold my hand :(

ETA: @Falling Down, did you walk that alone? You’re a tough military guy. The thought of that whole area just chills me to the core and I can see why the community would want to take that back!

Cherokee, what has been pointed out is that the details you are focusing on (regarding clothing) have NOT been officially released or confirmed by LE or news outlets. Therefore we can't talk about it as being FACT. If you can link us to a news article which states what you said, then cool. We can then discuss it.

Many have already speculated that some sort of kill pack/weapon/rope/etc. was carried under the bulkiness of BG's coat. After listening to several profilers in the past and even more of them currently, they mention the use of kill packs used by premeditated killers, and so instead of saying all the stuff under BG's coat, I thought it made more sense to call it a kill pack because basically, that's probably what it was.
Again, I think you’re giving this guy too much credit IMO. I really don’t see this guy walking a hiking trail with a kill kit. He could have left it “down the hill” if he had one. I don’t believe he had anything under that coat.

Dude. That is going to be the biggest party.

I thought the best ever was when the judge said to CW “Now bailiff, please escort this man to the Dept of Corrections for the rest of his life”—we will feel equal pleasure in that collectively and I wait for that day.

I wonder if Abby’s and Libby’s families will choose to comment after they have had time to process all this. I wonder what their thoughts are. Whatever they decide to do is their decision and I hope they will not be bombarded with pressure from the public. (I’m learning in my own experiences in life we need to process things in our OWN times to the best of our abilities...).

I came across an old quote from MP, and how optimistic he was for a variety of reasons including the sketch being out there...

They’ve been out there as we know, fairs, events, distributing flyers with THAat SKETCH, what a freaking blow to them. I don’t know how they feel and could never imagine how they feel but if I had to guess it must be hard? Maybe they feel optimistic that there has been a correction and things can move forward? But I think many of us still feel confused?

The video is a very brief clip of two steps, played back to back, over and over. Notice the tree in the background, it does not become distant as the man lurches along. It’s a bit deceptive because it only appears he’s walking at a consistent pace.

I have a question. Does anyone know how soon after the girls were dropped off did he emerge on the bridge? And initially, when they were dropped, was he on the side of the drop, or the opposite one? Someone posted here that they passed by him.

Sure is, IMO.

Wow! It never fails to amaze me what we can find to argue about when news is slow. Now that the subject has changed, I'd like to comment about the car by the abandoned building. I suspect that the reason they've given no information about the type or color of the vehicle is mainly to avoid receiving 1000's of unrelated tips; for example, "I saw that red truck at the supermarket", "I saw that green SUV parked at the high school", "I saw that black Toyota at the hardware store", etc. If someone did see the vehicle, and remembers it, they'll also know what color it was and have some idea of the make/model. It wouldn't surprise me at all if BG himself were to call in a tip about seeing it - which may be their plan, maybe there wasn't even a vehicle there. Anyway, I believe they're interested in any and all vehicles that were parked there during those hours.

This Creep is probably having a real buzz, knowing he is discussed everywhere.
I would imagine he is on numerous online sites, perhaps lurking, to note how important he has now become.
He is very pleased with himself, with his notoriety, that he outsmarted so many, I would think.
In his eyes, in my own opinion, he thinks his actions were so worthwhile, as is now talked about WORLDWIDE.
How satisfying on his part.
MOO.

I've been wondering if it was a tip from him that got them looking in a different direction (maybe getting the guy from the first sketch arrested?) because the coverage had slowed down too much. If he really does get off on all of the attention, that may be his big downfall. I'm hoping he'll just keep trying to keep attention on these girls rather than committing another murder to get back in the limelight.

One thing the latest presser has caused me to rethink is the possibility of the Delphi murders being connected to the Evansdale murders.
The statement that the Delphi killer is most likely a local or previous local of Delphi doesn’t rule out a connection but it does make it less likely, IMHO.

When they said he may be as young as 18-20, that made me reconsider him being involved in L&L's deaths. If he's 18-20 now, he would have been 16-18 when Libby and Abby were murdered, and only 11-13 when Lizzy and Lyric were. I guess getting both crimes solved at once might be asking too much, but I'm still hoping it'll happen (and soon!)

MOO

I agree with most of that, with one exception; the second he laid eyes on those girls, he was going to kill them.

There’s no way around that, especially if he didn’t want to get caught.

If the former FBI agents interviewed in the podcast are correct in their opinion that he 1) likely had a "kill kit" with him; 2) fantasized about sexual assault and murder; and 3) that he posed the girls' bodies after killing them, then I believe BG went to the trail that day intending and prepared to kill. MOO.

Respectfully but vehemently disagree.

Nobody has ever accused me of being keenly observant, but even to my inattentive eye,
BG has what looks to be everything but the kitchen sink stuffed underneath his jacket on that bridge. That, combined with navigating the bridge gaps, would also explain the odd gait.

JMO.

That^^^ and the change in the perps age, making him younger. That also makes me doubt there is really a connection between the two tragic crimes.

Here's a comparison of some of the language spoken by Superintendent Carter from the PC on the 1 year anniversary and the recent PC that introduced the new sketch and recordings.

Feb, 2018 Press conference:
"I just hope that one day I can look into the eyes of the murderer and ask him why? And I believe that we will.. I believe that we Will."
"I believe we are one piece of the puzzle away from figuring out who this individual is.. Then the real work begins."

Apr 2019 Press conference:
"Directly to the killer who may be in this room. We believe you are hiding in plain sight. For more than two years you never thought we would shift gears to a different investigative strategy but we have. We likely have interviewed you or someone close to you. We know that this is about power to you and you want to know what we know. And one day you will."
"Never in my career have I stood in front of something like this. Please be patient with us. Please. We're just beginning. We are we are just now beginning. "

Make of that what you will, but IMO he does sound more confidant than he did in the earlier press conference, the language towards finding the killer shifted from an if to a when type of situation.

The mention of kill kits reminds me of Israel Keys, a traveling killer who would leave his kits with weapons, money, etc. in remote locations for when he passed by again. This was from 2000-2012 also, so it's not an "outdated" concept.
I see a lot of similarities to other cases to the point where I wonder if BG was sickly fascinated with TC cases, like Keys for example.
Also, can we please not get caught up on this silly back and forth which ends up in people being banned?
They may have been assaulted, maybe not. Maybe there was a kill kit, or not. Who knows if this was absolutely premeditated or a random, grateful act. None of us have definitive proof of anything, so let's leave it at that ;)

RSBM for clarity.

I may get timed-out or banned for this, but with one poster calling for my head on a pike and another asking for answers, I guess I might as well say what is already known.

The searchers found girls undergarments in the water (as well as other items) and they were sealed in evidence bags for this case. If that doesn't speak to sexual assault or debasement, I don't know what does.

To the moderators, I sincerely apologize if this information is not allowed, but I am being hammered by one poster in particular who believes I have no basis for my opinion, which is allowed to be posted on this board of opinions.

Because I'm old-school WebSleuths, having been here off and on for 17 years, I forget to put all the MOOS on my post. We didn't used to have to do that.

If I put a big fat MOO right here, will that get a certain poster off my back that I have a right to follow the expertise of profilers, my own expertise, and the words of the investigator at the press conference?

Anyone is welcome to disagree with me. No one is welcome to berate me, tell me I'm jumping to conclusions, and attack me personally for merely stating my opinion.

I was asked where I obtained the information. I gave it. Apparently, that was not enough, and now the unsatisfied poster is gearing up to hound me off the board.

I thought we were having an intelligent discussion of evidence and ideas. I didn't know some posters see it as an opportunity for attack and belittlement. But no matter. I will gracefully bow out. To those who are providing much appreciated information and brilliant commentary, thank you. It has been a pleasure. Ta.

Cherokee.
Please don't bow out and leave.:(
When I see what you are describing, these unnecessary attacks, I am hoping the person will just not reply with any comment. This would be most effective.
Hope to see more posts from you.:)
MOO.

Absolutely agree.

More confident, and a dramatic shift in tone.

This was aggressive, antagonistic, and designed to rattle this guy.

Calling him a “coward,” was a shot to his ego.

Calling them “little girls,” appealed to his conscience, and the conscience of those who may be protecting him. It was also another shot (emphasizing his cowardice).

Carter wanted to communicate to him that the walls are closing in, and he has nowhere to hide.

At the same time, he wanted the public to realize just how close this guy might be. To encourage them to scrutinize those who may have been overlooked.

I don’t know how close they really are to catching this guy, or if the confidence is real, but it did feel that way.

Either way, I hope we find out soon when they catch the coward.

the thing about saying : "For more than two years you never thought we would shift gears to a different investigative strategy but we have." is intriguing. How does LE know what the suspect thinks about their strategy? Has their new, known, suspect been interacting with them all along, throwing distracting info their way?
