I actually thought the man would have been ID'd when I got on this morning, with it being such a small town. I know it's still early over there, and people will travel from further afield to walk the trails.

I thought the same thing. It's a little after 9 on the east coast now so hopefully they ID him soon so he can be included or excluded as a potential suspect.

I am sure he is ID'd.

Yes.

Sorry.

He very well could be ID'd and is being interviewed or already arrested, police are under no obligation to report exactly what is happening or when. I am hoping for a presser and arrest announcement today.

I'm assuming the girls were dropped off at the parking lot on road W300N which looks to be maybe 1/4mi away from the bridge? Looking at the Delphi trails map, the trail begins at the city park and ends at the bridge approx 1.5 miles away. The spot marked on steelmans map link shows the girls being dropped off at what looks to be a sandbar in the bend of the creek. Although that spot could be where the picture I've seen of one of the girls fishing was taken because you can see the bridge in the background.

If you ever watch those "to catch a predator" shows, some of the men came from 100's of miles away.

I am wondering since they haven't released cause of death it must be a unique situation to that murder. Usually if a gun was used, they would come out and say it. So maybe they got attacked by a group and got beat up. If they were hard to identify someone or somebody must of mutilated the bodies

Hopefully the police know exactly who the man is, even though we don't . (I honestly was at least hoping to see web chatter about his name but I can't even find any half credible chatter. Lol..Since it is a small town, surely someone knows who he is.... )
I do agree that police seem to have the advantage here being that they have trail camera images. I'm guessing they may know a lot more then we might think.

I am wondering what the source of the photo of the man they are trying to identify is. Have they said if it was a trail camera? Phone photo?

  • #791
Has it been said by LE they were unidentifiable? I've only seen waiting for autopsy to confirm but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Like mentioned often before, this police force is not accustomed to double murders of children. I don't think we can read into their words like we might with a much more experienced LE. IMO

LE has not said yet.

I admittedly haven't been able to keep up with the thread, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered. Has anyone been able to locate a crime map for the park that shows any incidences there previously?

No. That is local *rumour* on SM, possibly given some validity by a family member but never the less, *rumour.*

I agree with you about the waiting for the autopsy to confirm ID's. . I believe they did not want the family members to see the bodies to keep the true cause of death under wraps. I don't believe the family even knows at this point. The rumors about the condition of the bodies and the clothing and whatever else are all just rumors.

Unfortunately there are many ways. They could have been so scared they just complied. Very scary if it did happen to be one person...they must have been dramatized....hate it even thinking about it. Bless those girls.
This is what keeps me up at night. Envisioning what happened. I have a 14 year old girl. She wouldn't just go along with a man because he's an authority figure but she might if he had a gun. However, the bodies were found with quite a bit of distance which gives me the impression one of them ran. Then with the rumor mill about the condition the bodies were found in, I'm even further confused as it doesn't sound like a gun was used. But (purely hypothetically speaking not in regards to speculation about this case as we have been given zero evidence from the police) how do you beat up two girls at once...or beat up one girl and then catch up to the next and do the same?

well kinda.....I'm not even sure (since I don't live there) if I would even let my children 'walk' that trail....we now live near the Montour Trail in Western PA and even that trail has spots where I wouldn't let my children alone on it.

http://montourtrail.org/

It all began with a walk on a trail, right?

it's a shame our children can't even do that safely nowadays.

Just chiming in to say that's right where I grew up! I walked that trail with friends a lot in my teenage years.

It's got a lot of hits because it is from MSM :p But seeing as you asked, this is mine that has the most hits 160,511 views I did put a lot of work into this one.

I'll make it 160,512

I didn't know who made up that other map I talked about earlier. It's real plain and simple, but it serves the purpose. A quarter million hits in 3 days is pretty damn impressive.

An article with quotes from a Delphi community organizer who is familiar with the trail system. No mention of cameras. The trail sign posted also doesn't mention security cams being utilized. I looked through a few online community links about the trail system and none mention a camera system. I'm leaning towards that photo not being from any trail cam.

I kinda thought the same.........but the cops may be dealing with a couple of issues.

A) Getting DNA from the victims

B) Seeing if that DNA is in the database or not.

C) Finding the guy in those pictures.

D) Figuring out how to get a DNA sample from the guy in those pictures if there isn't a sample in the database.
