The 64-year-old man who went missing Sept. 14 in Marion was found dead “behind and under a large log” Monday in a wooded area in eastern Grant County, according to police reports.

Henry “Hank” A. Schneider’s death was ruled a suicide after investigators said a self-inflicted gunshot wound caused his death. Grant County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Ed Beaty told the Chronicle-Tribune a shotgun was located near the body in the area of the 2500 block of Grant County Road (C.R.) South 700 East.
