Hurricane Isaac "has recently resumed a northwestward motion, and a second landfall should occur later tonight near Grand Isle," said Senior Hurricane Specialist Dan Brown of the National Hurricane Center in a forecast discussion message released at 10 p.m.

Not good. Sending many prayers to those affected.

Well it looks like the trend continues. Isaac wasn't able to strengthen in the gulf, like most hurricanes during the last two years. While the wind, rain and storm surge will be an annoyance to some, the rain is much needed on the Mississippi River, not to mention in the Midwest states. I wonder if globs of oil will start washing up on the shores? From Fl to TX. I know this sounds awful , but it will let BP know that the ocean is still full of oil. Hopefully for the rest of the hurricane season, the storms will continue to avoid the gulf totally and when they get close to the east coast of the US they head north.

May not have strengthened much but a cat 1 can still do lots of damage. Looks like baton rouge its going to get almost a direct hit again...Gustav and Andrew like path..those hit us hard. For Gustav we were without power for over 3 Weeks. Ugh.praying that this thing gets some stream to start moving faster...stops drifting west..and just gets out of dodge and losses steam quickly! Praying when we get back from vacation that our house is ok, our kitty is ok, and ask of our family are safe and sound and houses intact.

I am continuing to follow this thread to see how our WS Sleuthers are faring with Isaac.

Good luck to you all, and God Bless!

I am in Lake Charles louisiana. I thought we would be pretty safe but that little westward wobble is kinda freaking me out, just sayin lol

Power came back quickly, but the wind and rain are rattling the windows. We can see a couple of huge tree branches down across the street.

Hang in there, Amanda. The numbers don't do him justice. This guy means business.

Isaac sitting there will probably increase the downed trees. The
ground will get too saturated.

The center is looking more ragged, seeing dryer air and pressure is coming up so it may be losing strength...

(I can hope at least...)
High tide expected in the am. That is not good.

He sure does, Bessie. I've had CNN on all night. This storm is so slow moving, and it's wobbling still? Stay safe, y'all. Keeping watch up here in Atlanta.

I did, but he turned his phone off to save the battery. I told him to call me this morning or I will call LE to go check on him. Ha, as if they have the time to do that. He better call me. Thanks.:seeya:
