Anyone else think the defense will have no witnesses? The way they hemmed and hawed at the end there (was really hard to hear with the camera pointed at the ceiling) and didn't actually answer the judge's question, I think they will have none, will rest their case Monday morning, and then closing arguments in the afternoon. The judge told them to come prepared with their closing arguments.

Dumb question - sorry - does Mark go on trial directly after this one?

IIRC, Jury selection begins 11/12 for MS. MOO

I think I read here that AW had moved on from CWW.....do I have that correct? CWW sounded like he was still into her from what I could tell.

Cww life stopped when he went to jail.. he lost his brother from another mother... Probably holding onto the memory of AW. Since he has nothing else

NO, that is not what Dr. Coyne said, "He said it COULD be consistent." and as Ross pointed out, it could have been multiple attackers, and Dr. Coyne agreed!
(I hate it when someone tries to convince me, "that is what you said".....and I know darned well it is something I would never do or say!)
I didn't like this part of the process...where they cite cases, names, numbers and then take something that was ruled on 27 years ago and make it relevant for today. You "court people" talk a different language. I think I should change my moniker to
LegallyBLANK :D:D:D
He also said, and I'm paraphrasing here...the lacerations that were what killed her were done when she was not in a moving position. Which to me means she was still, on the floor and not moving. MOO JMO

@beach .. JRR on the stand next week?
He certainly has the right to testify but I don't think he will. I don't believe his legal team will want him on the stand either. Ultimately, it will be his choice though.

10/18/19 Day 7: Judge is on the bench early checking on any outstanding issues before the juries 9 a.m. call time. Just a few minor discussions. Curtis Wayne Wright on the stand. Jury is in. Cross examination being questioned by Assistant Public Defender Kathleen Fitzgeorge. Dr. Thomas Coyne (Medical Examiner's Office). State rests their case. Jury is excused until Monday, 10/21 at 10am. Assistant Public Defender Jay Brizel is motioning for a judgement of acquittal. DA Ross stated to the judge that the State has met its burden and asks that the judge denies the defense's request for acquittal. Judge reserves ruling on motion for Judgement of Acquittal. I am anticipating that someone will change their plea and it is a wrap.

As they should! But I envision the defense team thinking they "nailed it" and standing firm. I don't think they saw performance the same way we did. I've always been a bit of a pessimist.

That would shock me. I would be stunned. At this point, I am not even sure the State would agree to one again. Their case in chief was strong and they know it. Depends though. They can read jurors faces & reactions. Some will be completely poker faced. Others, not so much. If they've got a nagging feeling about even one juror that could make a difference.

I don't believe JRR will take a plea. He has stated he's ok with doing 10-20 years for murder. IMO he doesn't seem to think he'll get DP or LWOP. He's too egotistical. JMO

Yep... just one juror. My family member/juror was furious when one juror held things up... also a murder trial. This one juror slept thru most, and I mean most, the trial—she reported it repeatedly to no avail. That hasn’t happened in Rodgers’ trial but I do have that little bit of pessimism tappin’ my shoulder as Bobbywoo.

I guess its just curiosity but i truly want to see JRR on the stand. I want to HEAR his words after all that was said. I want that smile wiped off his face and his little 'lawyer' act to fall flat.
