Kirstie Alley has died at 71

Sad, I always liked her. I wonder what kind of cancer got her that quickly?
When I think of cancer that is quick is pancreatic cancer.
Albeit pancreatic cancer isn’t quick, it just seems that way because by the time it’s diagnosed, which is when the symptoms show, is stage stage 4. And for the most part people at this stage have about 3 months, if not shorter.
My mother died of pancreatic cancer.

Sorry about your mother. :(

I have similar stories about 2 friends.

Lung, liver, gall bladder, bile duct cancers are also quick to kill.

I know someone who saw a liver specialist about a possible bile duct cancer and was told to expect less than four months, two of which would be ‘good’ in air quotes. Thankfully, they did not have bile duct cancer, as it turned out.

They were asymptomatic except for one roaring episode of abdominal pain.

RIP Kirsti.

How sad :(

Kirstie Alley was iconic! She was fierce and sassy. I'd forgotten she was in Star Trek Wrath Of Khan.

Her IMDB says she was working on a project. She was so young to die from cancer. Thoughts and condolences to her family.

Kirstie was a very heavy, long-term smoker. I remember reading she would have to send her clothes out to the cleaners once a month to get the smell out of them.

My guess would be an aggressive lung cancer.

Add stage 4 colon cancer to that list. The prognosis for all cancers is based on what stage it's in when it's found. One can live with a cancer chronically for many years, or pass within 3 months of diagnosis. Best reason for annual screenings!

Look Who's Talking was my FAVORITE movie as a kid just because of her. I always thought I'd my mom ever left or died, I'd choose Kirstie as my new one Sad to hear we lost her, even though the latter half of her life didn't feel as happy as the first half.

I share your thoughts/feelings. Drop Dead Gorgeous was one of my favs.
That is such an underrated movie: Kirstie Alley, Ellen Barkin, Allison Jane, Kirsten Dunst, Denise Richards, Amy Adams Brittany Murphy, Mo Gaffney, Adam West !

Kirstie made her part so funny with the perfect Minnesota accent. Can you imagine her in a mid-west accent? We all know someone like that. I'll bet they all had fun making that movie.

Is 71 young to die from cancer? I am genuinely asking, as I haven't had much experience with it (both my parents got it in their 50s but luckily are cancer-free today)
