It would be helpful to know which it is (visual impairment or an intellectual disability, or both). I am friends/acquaintances with individuals who have one or the other and they both present vastly different real life challenges that may provide insight into her missing person status.

The conflicting info "visual impairment" versus "intellectual impairment" makes it hard to get a handle on this case. My husband is legally blind (a genetic disorder that caused retinal detachment in early adulthood). He could get along just fine if "lost" as far as seeking out and finding help if needed. Intellectual impairment is a whole different issue

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A visually impaired Wichita woman has been missing for a week.

KBI has now issued a statewide endangered persons advisory for her.
Savannah Schneider is 23 years old, 5-foot-8, weighs closer to 90 lbs than the 110 lbs listed in her description, has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.

Schneider was last seen Monday morning, June 1st, just after 5 a.m. In her neighbors security camera footage, she’s shown sitting on her doorstep then a van, determined to be a Lyft ride share, pulled into her driveway, picked her up and drove away.

According to Wichita police, the next and last time her phone was pinged was in Haysville Tuesday night, June 2nd.
Those closest to her say she is very trusting of people she meets online, and they fear her vulnerability is what could have led to her disappearance.
"She doesn’t deserve this. She's a good person with a really good heart and she's been through a lot already," says an anonymous friend.

Her friends believe she is alive, but in a very bad situation. If you know anything you’re asked to call police.

Per the link, she lost her mom, dad and stepdad within the past 2 years. The friends interviewed seemed to care very much for her. I hope she's found soon.

The discovery was made early Sunday afternoon at the Ninnescah River. According to the Sumner County Sheriff, a fisherman called 9-1-1 after they found a body floating in the river, just outside of Wellington. Crews were able to pull it out after a three-hour recovery operation.

Neither the identity of the person, nor a cause of death has been released.”

Anyone know if Savannah was friends with Rowena Irani who was murdered in 2016? Maybe it's a friend with same name (and same mother's name)??

I came across Savannah’s thread just now via discussion in Suzanne Morphew’s thread.

I checked the distance from Haysville (where her phone last reportedly pinged) to the N. River (not the exact location where the UID was found), and the approx. distance to closest point of the river was 15 min, 11.5 miles, iirc, straight shot moo.

Per the press conference video, there is discussion of a possible “box” at the scene; the articles above also reference that (in different ways). Chambers also mentioned a “steep embankment” at the recovery scene.

They took drone video footage of the entire area to document the current river conditions.

It must be noted that so far there has been no mention of Savannah, so at this time the body is still a UID.

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to locating missing 23-year-old Savanah Schneider of Wichita.

The investigation led to a search today of an area south of Haysville after it was learned Schneider’s cell phone last pinged in the Haysville area.

WPD detectives, Sedgwick County Sheriff Detectives, WPD mounted unit, cadaver K9’s, and article search K9’s searched the area.

Schneider was last seen on Sunday, May 31, at her home in the 10300 block of West Alamo. She is described as 5’08”, 110lbs, with blue eyes and blonde hair.

WPD is concerned for her and needs help locating her. If you have any information on this case or Schneider’s
whereabouts, please call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
