WAVE : Search underway for missing Bullitt County child

A search is underway in Bullitt County for a missing three-year-old girl.

The child has been missing since 10 a.m. and was last seen in the 600 block of Winding Hollow Lane, off Lower Beech Grove Road.

The girl is described as being blonde and was wearing blue pajamas. The girl's pet dog, a pit bull, is likely with her.

Southeast Bullitt Fire Department and the Bullitt Co. Sheriff's Office are among the agencies involved in the search. Because the area where the girl was last seen borders Fort Knox, the Army is also conducting a search on their property.

A Bullitt County girl has been missing since 9:30 this morning in area near Winding Hill Road. Multiple crews are searching for the 3 y/o. I heard this deputy telling neighbors who asked what they could do to pray.

This is Charlie....she disappeared from her Bullitt County home this morning. For now, first responders are asking the public stay away so they can search. 40+ firefighters as well as law enforcement officers searching for her.

Search underway for missing Bullitt County girl

Charlie, 2, was reported missing on June 7 and was last seen in blue Frozen themed PJs. Dispatch said staging is happening at the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

EDITOR'S NOTE: It was originally reported Charlie was 3-year-old but the chief of the Southeast Bullitt Fire Department said she is 2-years-old going on 3. It was originally reported her name was Caroline but it was later confirmed she answers to Charlie.

2-year-old girl missing in Bullitt County, search underway

Bullitt County Sheriff's Office said the child, goes by Charlee Campbell and is autistic.

The girl’s grandmother woke up just before 10 a.m. and found the door open with Charlee and her dog gone.
