I don’t understand the quote from the homeowner who found her that she handed her a bottle? Where did the bottle come from? A baby bottle? A pop bottle? Or did homeowner give her a bottle?

I thought I read homeowner gave her a bottle of water and she drank 1 1/2 out of it. I will have to go back and check.

Tinnell believes the girl could have been inside someone's home during the course of her disappearance, and said on Monday that he is asking for a forensic medical examination to determine if the little girl had eaten over the time she went missing. The examination can also help determine whether the girl had been sexually assaulted.

And Tinnell said it's unusual that Charlee was found with dirt all over her, but the family dog that was thought to be with her was found on Friday very clean.

Tinnell said the investigation has not turned criminal, but he believes there will be criminal charges filed eventually.

My goodness. This is such a bizarre case. I'm impressed with LE in this case.

Glad she is found safe. Glad to hear the investigation is going to continue to make sure facts are found out.

JMO
I would not be surprised if she was wandering the woods as kids can be resilient sometimes when lost.

If the dog was clean though and she was not then that is suspicous. Just wish the sheriff would not speculate until he gets some facts determined.

If she had ticks then it seems the dog should have had ticks too but if the dog was treated with Frontline or something else then maybe the dog would not have a lot of ticks on it. If there was water pond or creek nearby then dog may have gone in water which could explain why dog was fairly clean.

Lets hope they do a good investigation.

VIDEO: Bullitt Co. Sheriff doubts missing girl was wandering the woods alone

Paraphrased (by me) from the end of video with Sheriff Tinnell

The reporter asks a question about the arrest of NQ's boyfriend.

The sheriff states that CQ is NQ's husband but not Charlee's father. CQ was at the scene and he went back in those woods a few times and we were suspicious of it. When he came back to the house he got ugly and said some things he shouldn't be saying. They did a warrant check on him and found out he had outstanding warrants so they took him into custody.

That sounds scary. Surprised LE did not prevent him from going into the woods or at least have someone go with him if he was searching.

Things are getting odd. The "few times" is bothersome. That sounds unusual that LE would let him keep going back into the woods without an escort.

So glad she is safe.

This. I don’t think she was out there the whole time. I’m 32 and doubt I would survive 20 hours in the woods by myself. I trip over air in my apartment and fall down stairs and knock myself unconscious and break my back. I also bend over to pick up my brush off my bathroom floor and slam my head into the corner of the sink and gash my head open and get a concussion. I also try to clean up broken glass and slice my palm open and need stitches. All this within a few weeks of each other. Soooo...

ETA: oh it was like 33 hours. Yeah.

My thoughts too, most of the time family members are not allowed to be on the search team in case something is found etc. So for them to allow him to go back in the woods is suspicious.

Ugh.... And this is the violent sex offender. Correct? If so, more reason to check Charlee out.

On Friday I had pointed people to the live feed from WAVE 3 to listen to Charlee's mother's interview. In that interview at the 1:25 mark pay attention to what Charlee's mother says about the custody situation.

Here is a link to the interview. Like I said, pay attention at the 1:25 mark.
Charlee Campbell: Mother of missing child shares emotions, says 'it's not a custody battle'

I think that the Sheriff may not have the custody situation right. I don't think there was a problem between Grandma and Mother.

To me, it implies that Grandpa had custody in name only. I had mentioned earlier on the thread on Friday that it is was possible that Charlee may not have been at the Grandparent's house when Charlee's father came to try and have visitation. The sheriff had said Charlee's father had been in the area with family and was denied visitation.

So again, to me, it leads me to believe that Charlee's father or his family may have been indicating that they were going to get to the bottom of why it is they won't let him see her. If the court had decided that Charlee's mother could not have custody or have her over night or in the same home with her boyfriend (or is it husband?) but Charlee was, in fact, staying with mom it could have the same result we see now - CPS involved and custody being examined.

I would like to know just when Charlee's father showed up to try and see Charlee. I think the phone records that law enforcement are going after are going to show how this all played out.

It sounds like she's defending herself. She doesn't wipe away tears until she says "there ain't no reason for me to do something crazy because I can have my daughter whenever I want too". It seems like it's a defense of me, me, me.

Maybe this is an unfair characterization and I'm jaded with so many cases of precious children that are neglected.

I'm super glad Charlee was found, but this is turning out to be really bizarre.

The key takeaway for me is that she had said that she could have Charlee whenever she wanted and that she saw Charlee every day. If she could have Charlee whenever she wanted then I wonder if that was the intent of the court custody order. I mean why not just give custody to Charlee's mother if what she says is true.

When it was reported that she was found covered with ticks I wondered about the dog- no one said the dog had any ticks and in the pictures Penny didn’t look muddy or dirty.

Super weird case but at least Charlee and Penny are safe. Please keep them safe!!

This article says the homeowner/neighbor who found her tried giving Charlee water, and she instantly threw up. I'm thinking it was a bottle of water.

Sheriff has doubts missing toddler, now in state custody, was in woods alone for 32 hours before being found

I think she actually had a bottle of some sort in her hand when she wandered up to the house. I've seen two interviews with the neighbor where he talks about the bottle. In this one he says he opened the door, asked her if she was Charlee and she handed him "this" bottle-- he holds up a bottle for the camera (clip with neighbor is about 3/4 way through video): Video: 2-year-old found after going missing in woods for two days | Daily Mail Online

In this longer interview he says pretty much the same thing (he asked her if she was Charlee and she handed him a bottle) but he is not holding a bottle. He says after that he called someone else out from the house (his son I assume from context) who said "that's Charlee" and pointed out she had the Frozen shirt on. The neighbor told his son to get her some water while he called 911. The son was talking to her and giving her water while the man was on the phone:
Neighbor finds Bullitt County girl on porch

The bottle he is holding in the first interview looks like a Gatorade bottle or an iced tea bottle to me. It's possible that the one he is holding is not the actual bottle even though he says "this bottle" and holds it up as if it is the bottle. I would hope that if she had a bottle in her hands it would be taken by the police for evidence, not left with the neighbor, JMO. The neighbor doesn't mention anything about trying to give her water before mentioning her holding up the bottle. And again he says he was on the phone with 911 while someone else tried to get her to drink some water.

JMO, I hope they can figure out where she got a bottle. IMO, it's also telling that the sheriff wanted try to have an analysis of her stomach contents done to see if she had eaten anything in the past 33 hours. Perhaps someone gave her a bottle of gatorade and put her outside where she would be likely to wander home, but instead she wandered up to this neighbor's house? She still might have been outside for quite a while to get all the ticks and scratches and mud but the sheriff seems to think she was not outside the entire 33 hours.
