Article and video.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Malik Lassiter, a Bowling Green native, was reported missing since May 11. He was last seen at his apartment on Russellville Road in Bowling Green. After missing for nearly a month, Lassiter’s mother is not only searching for him but for answers as well.

*********
“He has not done this before. Malik is not going to vanish like that,” said Lassiter. “If Malik goes somewhere, it will be that day and then come back that evening, but he has never vanished at all.”

Rosemary said Malik has a big heart. She also said that his desire to help others makes his disappearance all the more confusing.

“He went to school, did what he had to do and everything,” said Rosemary. “Malik was not a problem child. He was not anything like that. If he could help you, he would help you. He had the heart that I had.”

**********
Malik was last seen leaving “The Flats” apartment complex wearing a black t-shirt. If you or anyone you know has any information on his disappearance, please contact the Bowling Green Police Department.

Has it been confirmed that he ever began the trip to Nashville? I'm wondering how good the video surveillance is around his apartment? I hope they can narrow that down, because Columbus to Nashville is so much more ground to cover than Bowling Green to Columbus.

I really feel for this mother. He sounds very responsible, and to have no answers... They found the car quickly, especially since it went across state lines. Wondering if the FBI could get involved? Praying she finds answers soon about her boy.

There's a possibility this is someone with the same name that lives in the area, but there is a pretrial conference in KY Criminal Court scheduled for October 19 for Malik Lassiter. KYeCourts - Login. As for FBI involvement? They would not normally be involved if an adult goes missing if there is not any indication of foul play HOWEVER local LE can request their assistance at any time (often done when the FBI has lab testing and other support that local LE may not be able to obtain in a timely manner). The photo of him in the thread doesn't make them very clear but if you look at various missing photos of him on missing person sites on Facebook there is a better shot of the neck tattoos which are distinctive looking and hopefully may help someone find him.

It would be nice to know what kind of condition his car was found in. Was it locked? Parked? Or did it appear as if someone was trying to hide it? Any details they could give about the car would help a lot, IMO.
Agreed. The exact location would be very helpful. There are some very bad parts of Columbus. The location of the vehicle would probably give us some hints as to the likelihood of various outcomes.
