What date was the 'abandoned' truck reported in East Texas that supposedly belonged to an offshore worker?

Grammi,

Ask ACI. He has information on the truck and driver. As indicated, it was not related to this case.

No, 25% of the population is a sociopath.

Nowhere near that, though it's impossible to have an accurate tally. The 2000 DSM IV-TR (which does not distinguish between ASPD and psychopathy) estimates the incidence of psychopathy as 3% in males and 1% in females. Studies in prisons go higher (as you'd expect), while a metastudy in the UK figures it at .6 %. I can't think of any reliable study anywhere that would go as high as 1/4.

Not that it really matters -- these are dangerous disorders, and the few who have them full-blown do terrible damage, out of all proportion to their numbers.

Yes, I think she said it because with all us sleuthers or maybe someone who wants to help would find out he's adopted and act like it's a big deal. There are millions of adoptees who are perfectly nice upstanding people and then there are some who aren't, just like the rest of the population.

And, just to add from personal experience, some of us like to get it out ASAP that we are adopted. Because, that crazy lady is NOT my real mother.
IMO

I don't know ... I thought about it but then I wondered if it was pertinent to the case. It also seems like Adam is trying to erase those posts in light of what's developed and I'm inclined to respect his privacy on that. What do you think?

I'll look for the first media reports and her bike picture.

JMO, I think it may be important sometime down the road and since that post is listed in an article, it's already on the web to be seen. I can understand his privacy issues with deletion of all his posts, but it is what it is, imo.

I've been looking at this site, which has a map, in regards to the numerous young woman who are missing from Spring.
We have an entire sub-forum here devoted to murders and disappearances of girls and women in eastern Texas from 1970-2012. Y'all should take a look around.

With all do respect, the pictures have distortion in them all ready. It doesn't matter if you view them on a bigger screen. It's because of the type of camera they were taken with and in addition they were zoomed previously by LE. Of course you can post and say anything you see or want. But we can also say what we think as well. Those pics are extremely distorted and that's just a well known fact that anyone can see with the naked eye. There is no argument in that. Also there's not a whole lot of point in discussing the truck in the Circle K pics, we know is BSL's, we know he took Mickey in it, we know he did not hit Mickey or have Mickey in the truck in these pics, we know Mickey or her bike is not under the truck, so discussing any of this helps Mickey in absolutely no way. However if you find it interesting of course you can discuss what you wish, I just wish to put it into perspective.

J.just curious do you have inside information? Please indicate the information to knowledge of the following:

1. We know he did not hit Mickey - I don't recall recall any confirmation of this
2. Or have Mickey in the truck in these pictures - same here I don't recall any confirmation of this
3. Mickey is not under the truck - I know A.C.I. was told she was not under the truck (do you know if the person that relayed that answer was telling the truth?). I believe that is what A.C.I. was told but ???
4. Her bike is not under the truck (to my knowledge this has never been answered)

Thanks

I think they are saying that he did not hit Mickey IN THOSE PICTURES. In other words, no matter how hard we look at these particular pix, we won't see Mickey in the back or underneath the tires. She was taken later on, and there are no pictures of the abduction, apparently.

With ZERO disrespect (not my style!) please, please, please tell me that we are not going back to the DWT and her under it again!

Just to add that tonight at 9 cst, 48 Hours Mystery is doing a program on "The Killing Fields", a movie with connections to a notorious killing spree in Texas.

Predators come from many different professions and all walks of life. Too many to mention. As an Army veteran myself, and one who honors and apreciates all military veterans, especially ones who gave their all/lives defending this Country's and other country's freedom. I feel that it is not only hypocritical but analogous to sticking your head in the sand to ignore military training & experience of various predators when researching, backtracking, or sleuthing them. This is not meant as an indictment of all honorable military veterans.

BSL, was obviously a US Army veteran if stationed at Ft Polk, LA and may be a very important part of the puzzle needed to bring Mickey Schunick home..

I am not a hypocrite and I'm not sticking my head in the sand. If people want to sleuth the military career of BSL, I think that is important. I merely asked for not all military members to be painted with the same broad brush.

He reported the truck stolen on the 26th, but he didn't burn it until days later. It was pretty risky to drive around in the truck after he reported it stolen, if that's what he did, but so was renting a car.

The truck had been burned just days after police released photographs of the truck as a vehicle of interest. (Which we know was May 25th.)

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - LA LA - ***ARREST*** Mickey Shunick, 21, Lafayette 19 May 2012 - #33

The truck was found burned (according to timeline on the 31st. No one knows when he burnt it because that hasnt been released.

I guess the assumption is he burnt it when he dropped it off but we have nothing to say that is correct.

He could have burnt the truck the day it was found burnt. He reported it stolen on the 26th. This is why I asked about the mileage on the rental.

If he burnt the truck on the 31st then he went back to the scene of the crime. I do believe he would have taken the rental car to check on other places.

I want Mickey to be found , and he covered alot of miles and it is possible he did so more then once.

It is kind of sad the way Brandon's mother kind of "said; " he is my son, but hey, he's adopted, so what the heck..."

I only read a small statement from his mom and it doesn't imply he is adopted all - just offering condolences, wanting closure, sorry is never enough, learning things one news moment at a time. What am I missing?

Not saying it was the majority but there were many, many that did. It got tiring I know. That is why they started calling it the darned white truck.

Not directed at you Megsy...

Sometimes I think people just pick up on an interpretation of what they hear and run with it. No one knows where Mickey was taken definitively.

For the thousandth time, I don't know or necessarily believe that Mickey and/or her bike was under that truck. I just don't see actual facts and LE confirmation that it didn't happen. No one has provided any type on concrete evidence that it did not happen. There is no concrete evidence period of where it happened.

The only thing I am doing is trying to figure out what is in the pic that doesn't make sense. To me, there are too many coincidences to completely rule it out. Actually, the evidence points more to something happening to her in this vicinity than it ever did before.

Long before we knew this white truck did in fact hit her as IS now confirmed by LE, most of us knew something in this pic stands out as not being quite right. I think it is further evidence that it is a possibility even if remote.

Unfortunately, many of the other members that also allowed for this possibility are no longer participating on this forum.

Just because something is probable it doen't mean it isn't possible!

Then it must have been rewritten, because in the original version which was posted here briefly, before the mods had to take it down, she said within the first few words, something like:

This is Brandon's mother, however he was an adopted son and this is a difficult time to discuss this, but...bla bla bla...

Cynthia Lavergne Hello to all.. My name is Cynthia Lavergne. I am the Mother of Brandon Scott Lavergne. There may never be a good or appropriate time for me to send this message but for me this seems to be the time. Brandon Scott Lavergne is my son however, he is an adopted son

Please research your numbers. If 25% of the population were sociopaths, we'd be living the zombie apocolypse.

Just toying with the definition of sociopath. What I am saying is that when the brain is malformed and the person is existing with a reptilian brain thatis acting on impulse, totally self-centered, cannot feel love or pain, and enjoys people and pets suffering (imagine an alligator or a lion in the jungle) that person is a severe sociopath or call them whatever you want. However, brain anatomy can be inherited (or the person could have suffered a brain injury, but more than likely it is inherited if it is this severe). This type of brain malformation or deformity or injury is not going to cause simple impulsiveness or cheating or gambling. It is going to exhibit from the earliest of childhood behaviors (age 3 or even earlier) and there is going to be cruelty, bedwetting, lying, pet abuse, etc.) Because: It is a very sick brain. No amount of motherly love is going to fix this. There have been horror stories of people suing adoption agencies for not telling the poor adoptive parents about the history of the children who were adopted, etc. etc. Sure, by definition of sociopath many people would qualify (anything that society deems not normal- socio and path); however, in this case this child was starting fires from early on and any child psychiatrist would label him with a ton of labels. Me, personally, I would fnd out as much as I could about his biological parents so I could discuss this with a child psychiatrist very very early in the adoption. If I was adopting a child I would be very familiar with the child's biological heritage before I signed those papers. Like they say: You cannot fix stupid. Well, you cannot fix severe sociopaths either.
