Mother of missing Opelousas woman wants her daughter home
11295057_G.jpg

An Opelousas mother is asking for help in finding her daughter who went missing on the Fourth of July.
Sunday is her 21st birthday. Her mother, Shannon Isaac, thought she would be spending it with her daughter, not at home wondering where she is.

If I recall correctly (I had an Aunt who lived here years ago), Opelousus isn't a large town. Imagine stretches of fields and woods.

Did anyone find any mention of whether they think she left voluntarily or not?

She is a pretty young woman......sad

The Louisiana State Police have identified the skeletal remains found in Evangeline Parish in 2018 as those belonging to Erica Hunt, who went missing in Opelousas in 2016.

According to Tpr. Thomas Gossen, LSP has confirmed that the body of Hunt has been identified and they are treating the case as a homicide.

LSP is leading the investigation along with help from the Evangline Parish Sheriff's Office and the Opelousas Police Department.

Gossen says the remains were originally located in December 2018 in Evangeline Parish while investigators were trying to find a missing boy.

Hunt was reported missing in July 2016 by OPD.

Gossen says that the remains were a forensic match for Hunt after being analyzed by the LSU Faces Lab along with the DNA Doe Project.
