Linda Kasabian, who was a well-known follower of murderous cult leader Charles Manson, has died at the age of 73, according to reports in the US.

The New York Times reported her death, adding her cause of death has not been made public, while citing a notice in the Tacoma News Tribune.

She certainly was a big help to the prosecution. Looking back on this, most of these people were pretty young and naive. Susceptible to manipulation by Manson. It doesn't make them less guilty, but it emphasizes how guilty Manson was in the commission of these murders Without his influence, most of these people never would have committed these murders. A few of them were pretty shady characters (Tex Watson, etc.) but many, like Linda, had never committed a crime prior to joining up with Manson. Linda was one of those who questioned Manson and Tex, who only went along as the driver because she felt threatened.
 
She was given immunity in exchange for her testimony, and she tried to live as anonymously as possible afterwards, which is probably why her death was not publicly announced until now. She is also one of the few people involved to whom I would wish "rest in peace", because she appeared to have a conscience.
