Logan's Road trip

there's an adoption agency around the corner from the hotel. I sent a link to the FB page. worth looking at though just b/c of proximity

I think this is the appropriate place to post this. This article is mostly about the landfill search like much of the news today, but at the bottom it reports that LM's truck was broken into and a GPS stolen.

Snipped

But there may be some in San Antonio trying to thwart the search efforts. Just one day after receiving word that their own investigating is stirring up a hornet's nest in the world of illegal underground adoptions, someone broke into the truck Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary, was using. The culprits stole only a GPS, and didn't touch bags of luggage or portable radios sitting on the seats. Homicide detectives, as well as patrol officers, showed up to investigate, but told McQueary and his family that, for now, they should refrain from television interviews.

Looking for opinions - do you think this is a coincidence, or that someone is actually trying to send LM a message?

at first, I was gonna say, Oh, a break in on his truck? thats all? a family relocated here not to long ago, and were staying at a motel, and they took the whole U-haul trailor. happens all the time! and then I continued reading.

By only takeing a GPS. that changes things, IMOO. being around criminals growing up, I have known a few theifs. (no more, Thank goodness!!) and they will take the loose change, if enough time! and the "sequence" of "events" is something like this-

1st- radio, check for amp wires. this is done, by a quick look with a flashlight. if amp wires, take the whole sound system. thats the money
2nd. anything electronic, such as the GPS. if this is a rental, the GPS must have been what they grabbed first, because no radio system worth anything(factory is worth nothing) if Interrupted-spooked, they will stop there, run. which could be what happened.
3rd- quick search of the consoles, and door panels, sunvisors. things like money and credit cards can be found in these locations.
4th- they will grab any and all bags, depending on how they are carting stuff off, and if more then 1 person. never know whats in those things.

this is no way set in stone. just an idea, they w3ant everything, they are very greedy. my question is, where are they staying(not an exact location! LOL) But is it a hotel with security? or one that police drive through regularly? real nice place? were any other cars broke into? were they parked in the back, in the dark? or in the light? is this place known for vehicle break-ins?

those questions, will get you an answer. they could have hit LM's truck first, got spooked, and left. before finishing, or hitting any other vehicles. if LM was parked in the light, that is very bold. while the ceramic used to break a window, if tinted, is almost silent, in the light, is another matter. def deliberate.

you asked:angel:

This is pathetic and scary!! :furious:

Tammi making good on her threat or just a random thief who wanted a GPS and paperwork??

Logan is the same age as my youngest son....he needs a (((hug)))

I caught the news story and it is just as was stated in the story, get your stuff out of the trailer today or it will be sold. Logan is on his way back to Arizona now.

As a landlord to almost a dozen tenants myself, this guy is a complete and utter *SS!!

I can't help but feel that the landlord may be in some violations here - a formal eviction would have been needed, followed by a writ of execution- even after that, AZ law enforces a 3 week (21 day) period where the landlord can not remove or destroy/dispose of the tenants property.:waitasec: This is based on my own exp. having a tenant in a rental property/house.

Mobile homes, I assume would be the same - even without a formal lease, but I'm not 100% ..something for the family/LM to consider if due process hasn't been exercised. Sorry if this is a bit O/T.

Well when I first found out I would have said coincidence, But because other stuff was not taken, IMO could be that because of the hotel and park being connected to underground adoptions, maybe someone thought if they took this it might stop logan or think he is getting too close to the truth, just a thought,

Does anyone know if Logan is still in SA? I read somewhere that LE advised him not give any interviews for awhile since the weird car break-in but I was wondering if he is still there.

Was the GPS that got stolen a new one or was it the one found with EJ when she was apprehended. I'm sure it's been posted somewhere but I can't remember what the answer was and can NOTfind.

The GPS that was stolen from LM? That was a different one then the one that was found from EJ.

The baby's father, Logan McQueary, returned to Arizona after spending about a week in San Antonio searching for clues in his son's disappearance, said Jay J. Armes, the El Paso private investigator who took on the case earlier this month. McQueary could not be reached late Tuesday, but Armes said he has been speaking with the father daily. Armes said McQueary was “very optimistic” about his search in San Antonio and that he and McQueary are planning to return soon.

The national nonprofit organization "Jessica's Law Now" is offering to help with some of the search expenses for Gabriel's dad, Logan McQueary.

McQueary is in San Antonio, the last place Gabriel was seen alive. Police have opened up both a homicide and a missing persons investigation.

The organization will pay for McQueary's gas, hotel stay, and even the cost of flyers he's plastering all over the city.

This weekend, the organization is holding a fundraiser at Manny's Mexican Restaurant in Avondale.

The fundraiser will run will run Friday, February 19, Saturday, February 20, and Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Manny's, and will feature live music, dancing, and food. There will also be a raffle for a Kurt Warner autographed football on Saturday.

Manny's is located at 12345 West Indian School Road in Avondale.

How hard that must of been for Logan to leave San Antonio without Gabriel. My heart goes out to him. Hopefully Gabriel will be home with his Daddy soon. :(

This is great! I noticed near the G&D salon EJ went to, on loop 1604 just North of Culebra just above the Culebra park, there is a "Burnett Staffing Specialists" company (was she trying to find work) and a "Cricket Wireless" (some of us here were discussing this, though I am unsure who and when). I think those places would be high on my list to drop off flyers.

ETA
Follow Culebra road East (turns into Grissom Rd), and there is a library "Great Northwest Library"

Sorry for the multiposts....I'm on a hunt...
I messed around with the sites EJ was spotted, and a few interesting places to me in the vicinity (the library in my previous post "C", and a Social Security Administration office at "B")...interesting how it makes an almost circle on the map.

That is interesting. I would give it a try without Six Flags and see how it looks. It doesn't look like Elizabeth was ever at Six Flags.

Closing Thread

Logan's road trip to San Antonio is over. He's packing up back in Tempe, and will shortly be moving to San Antonio.

We have a thread for Logan's SA move here:
