Wow, that was disgusting. Haha, I had to laugh when she said she didn't wear a bra. Yea, ok, either you had a boob job or you're still wearing more than one padded bra.

You make a good point about society giving these people the attention that rewards this behavior. But, with one important exception (perhaps the most important) I can't really agree with most of the rest of the post.

Society did not teach this child how to be cheap. Society does not look kindly on such creatures or treat them well. They are looked at as tragic figures who inhabit the lower echelons of society and are able to be just more than common street walkers because of their underlying nice bodies and basically decent features, and some funds, which they use to accentuate, usually in ridiculous ways, those features.

And it is widely believed/known that most women who market themselves in the way Courtney has been marketed, were molested as children - people gawk, but not in a good way.

Further, her parents had to give this child permission to marry a perverted old man. And they had to allow her to dress in a cheap fashion and adopt the attitude and attire of a porn star, and then to produce videos marketing that style, which were promoted publicly, when she was only 16 years of age.

Society ultimately can be held at bay, if you still adhere to the "society made her do it" view point, when the subject is a 16 year old little girl who has parents who can legally control her behavior. Not only did they fail to control her behavior, they encouraged it. In fact, I sincerely believe that they raised her to be this way and created situations that would result in what we are seeing now.

The parents wanted this more than anything. This child's own father handed her off to the creep. And I am sure they got a hefty "gift" in return.

This is a train wreck. It is tragic, what this child has been raised to become. She really was fated to this and can see no other options. It is disgusting. And to say that, hey she can get wise when she gets older and realize the error of her ways, and no problem then because "So what, she's made her retirement." is, wow. I don't know. I feel that's the same as saying that a child prostitute who gets out of the business at a certain age after making money from it should not be pitied and the practice of child prostitution should really not be scorned because hey, she earned a buck or two.

I don't give a darn how much money Courtney Stodden makes from this. It's horrible. It's sad and IMO, it should be illegal. Her parents sold her to an old man. We watch in horror, amazement and disgust. This girl was made into a freak by the adults in her life and she will always be known as the freaky, child bride who was compelled to sell herself to an old man for notoriety.

No amount of money can make up for that. No amount of money can make up for the fact that a little girl was transformed into a pornographic cartoon and will always be known for that, or the fact that her first sexual experiences were as a minor, with a dirty old man, not with a fellow, sweet teenager - but with a pervert, a predator.

All of this is super offensive. People almost never ignore that which is super offensive. They watch with disgust and repeat what was done or said, bringing to light that which could be hushed up. Bringing light to something offensive has an effect. In this case, I hope that effect is to bring shame on the heads of the adults involved, to expose them as child prostitute pimps and to ruin their reputations and careers.

As for Courtney, I think you are right about mocking her. This is really not her fault, yet we are casting scorn on her more than anyone else involved in this train wreck. She is called trashy, slutty, etc., Not her horrible parents or molester husband.

And I admit to enjoying that scorn at times. I laughed at Anderson Cooper when he mocks her. I do find it hilarious.

So, perhaps that is really wrong. We are slut shaming the child bride, mocking her for being on drugs adults gave her, mocking her for the lack of education her parents created, when really, we should be calling the police.

In our defense, however, the most meaningful adults in this kid's life - her parents, the man who may have taken her virginity, her husband - have surrounded her and brainwashed her with the idea that being a child prostitute is an honorable thing. They have made money off her, or hope to, no doubt about that, IMO. So they are never going to tel her the truth about what she has become, about what they have made her to be.

    So let society do it.

If this kid can see that she has been used by those who should have loved her most, that she has become a freakish, pornographic cartoon character, the type that is reviled by society, perhaps she will break away and break out.

I only wish that instead of being "uncomfortable" with the spectacle of Courtney Stodden and her molester husband, the women of that house had embraced her and taken every opportunity to give her affection, attention and to show her the truth. Of course, I don't know what kind of women they are. They may not be far off from what she was raised to be.

Maybe that is what we need to do. Instead of mocking her into reality, we should love her into it. Because she is a victim. Really, she is the only victim in this.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent. The tragedy of Courtney Stodden has bothered me from the beginning. I will never understand how this was legal.

IF you watched this girl on the first episode Celebrity Marriage counseling you would know that she is a self centered biotch. She tries to push peoples buttons and is completely disgusting. She is 17 not 7, she knows exactly what she's doing.

    She is MEAN.

She is completely grotesque. She is purposely dressed to be as provocative as possible so that she is impossible to ignore. There is no way to ignore someone who is so scantily and disrespectfully attired. There is no way to take her seriously as a human, as a woman or even as a real person.

She exists in her own little world where she is the center of attention. She flits about, prancing in stripper heels which makes her look like a hooker frisking about for customers or asking for dollars to be stuck in her panties.

Her fake voice makes it clear that she thinks she is starring in her own show, she supplies her own canned laughter, makes provocative statements and thinks she is just ever so cute.

She is just SO pathetically inappropriate in so many ways. It's like she is just begging for attention, practically screaming "look at me, look at me". He "husband" is just as pathetic and grotesque.

They both feel that everyone else is wrong about how they feel and that others are just jealous or unenlightened. They are a walking train wreck. I have no doubt that their sex tape will be released soon. You know, "accidentally" leaked so they can pretend to be indignant to gain publicity and all that.

These two just keep getting worse.

That may be true. But I really feel she is what she was made to be. She was abused, IMO, and horribly exploited by her own parents. I think it's no different than any teen prostitute pimped out by some adult.

I think this girl has no choice but to viciously defend the disgrace she has become. Otherwise she has to face the reality that the ones who should have loved and protected her the most, essentially sold her. And, she likely has no idea what a different reality would look like or how to obtain it.

This was a young girl who was raised and trained to be a whore. Now she is drugged to keep her from realizing the horror of what she is. For now, I retain sympathy for her.

I believe she is now an adult since she turned 18. So we can stop blaming her parents. She seemed to want attention in the worst way possible.

Why, because a child sexual abuse victim magically becomes a mature, whole adult, unscathed by the abuse they endured, when they reach the arbitrary, legal threshold age of 18? She's supposed to go, "Ding, ding ding! I just turned 18! I now magically know what it is to be a fully formed, fully functioning adult, and exactly how to break free from the adults who molded me, the most important people in my life, my only and strongest role models, and how to become a completely different person from who they raised me to be!"?

This girl at age 18 is not committing a crime or committing child abuse. But her husband and her parents sure committed abuse when they bought and sold a child who was raised to become a prostitute.

Have you seen the photos taken of Courtney between the ages of 11-14? Clearly her parents were pimping their child out. And how do you think it came to be that this kid suddenly met doug hutchinson and that he felt comfortable enough after flirting with a kid online, to approach her parents to ask for her hand in marriage? This was no accident.

Yes, Courtney Stodden is an unlikeable, freakish human being. But why does she get the brunt of the blame, shaming and vitriol? What about her creepy, death's head molester husband or her disgusting, child prostitute pimp parents? She was fated to be what she is today due to what they did to her. Why does she bear all the blame? Just because she turned 18? That magical, arbitrary legal milestone, created by the law simply because some number was needed?

They are a train wreck and we just can't look away.

I think I saw in one of the previews that the therapist asks her is she was molested. Maybe I'm confusing her with one of the other people on the show. I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't though.

I never followed this story and didn't know who these people were until I caught that Couples Therapy show on VH1. Wow! I haven't had a chance to read all the posts but I think Gitana1's post say it all.

The girl is totally unlikeable. Her behavior & her outfits are just horrible. But ... some how, some way, this girl was raised to behave like this. I agree, she most likely was molested. It's inconceivable to me how her parents raised her this way, let alone gave her permission to marry. Yes, she's an adult now but this is the life she knows. As long as she's in that environment, she'll continue this way. Her husband is disgusting and he knows it. The comments he kept making about "raising his wife" made my skin crawl.

I hope she someday gets the help she needs. It's obvious her parents failed her and her so called husband is even worse.

Supposedly he was the teacher. But they started talking about more than class. I think it was a set up. Doug was looking for action and the mother saw her opportunity. Gross.

I agree Gitana, that girl has been hypersexualized and to such a degree that it cannot be denied. Something caused this girl to be who she is now. The first time I laid eyes on her in an interview and saw her behaviors I suspected she was an abuse victim of some sort or another.

I hope she finds her own true worth one day and the real Courtney gets a chance to be seen.

But is there a real Courtney at this point? I mean, if reality has been so twisted for this girl, perhaps her personality has been irrevocably twisted as well. Something is definitely wrong, though. Very wrong.
