A man was walking the shore of Little Beach in Dartmouth on Jan. 3, 2021, when he found the top part of a human skull.

Dartmouth police recovered the remains and investigated the area, but didn’t find any additional remains or evidence.

Similar to the skulls found in Westport, investigators haven’t learned much about the victim behind the skull.

The skull has since been sent to Bode Laboratory, where researchers are working to determine whether DNA can be recovered.

On January 11, 2021, a man was walking along the shoreline of Little Beach in Dartmouth when he located what appeared to be the top part of a human skull above the high tide mark. The man contacted the Dartmouth Police who responded to the scene and recovered the remains. No other remains were found during a further search of this area. The skull was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office where it was confirmed that it was a human skull. However, no determination could be made relating to sex or how long ago this individual had died. This skull been sent to Bode Laboratory to determine whether DNA can be recovered to help identify these remains.
