MA MA - Gerald Peasha Jr., 44, Leominster, 4 April 2010

This guy was measured to be 1" shorter and 17 pounds heavier than Gerald's estimates. He was located ~31 min away in Lowell, MA on May 21, 2011 with a PMI of "days". He had quite a few belongings including clothing, boots, glasses, and keys. It'd be nice if @peashak could look at the items to see if anything possibly belonged to Gerald.

@YaYa_521 - did you send this in as a tip? I see this is still unresolved in Namus. This location is 1.5 hours (90 miles) from Gerald's home town of Leominster. He disappeared in April 2010, these remains found in October. This is very worthy of a tip, IMO.

TY for reminding me about this suggestion. I didn't send a tip but I'll send an email out tonight.
ETA - @rosesfromangels I sent an email to Lori Bruski to request a comparison.

Thank you YaYa. I think it's a very good lead, very good.

YW. I hope it brings the answers Gerald's family needs to put their hearts and mind at ease. Kudos to you for the concern you obviously have for Gerald and his family!

@YaYa_521 - did you ever hear anything back on the tip you submitted? It really seemed like a strong possibility. I've never forgotten this case, and I hope there will be resolution for his family.

Hi @rosesfromangels. The only thing I ever received was the standard "thank you" email. I see John Doe's NamUs profile is still active with zero exclusions. Maybe they're collecting/analyzing DNA, or the submission wasn't worthy of a comparison. :( I'll certainly let you know if I hear anything, ever. ;)

Hello,

Thank you for your submission, we appreciate your time and support. NamUs staff will review the submitted information. Additionally, we will notify the investigating agencies for their consideration if the agencies have not been previously notified.
Please note, identification and exclusions are only made and/or confirmed by investigating agencies. The results of comparisons may or may not be made available to the public for investigatory reasons.

Sincerely,

Lori

I apologize for missing this post. TY for the wishes. It's rather late (or early for this year's celebration), but same to you! :D

ETA- Yes, I know very well. I can't even count how many times I've stumbled around here. These MP cases break my heart.

Thank you for submitting it! Given their case load and scant resources, it’s no surprise there hasn’t been resolution one way or another. I still think it’s a great tip, and could very well end up being the subject of this thread. We’ll see. Thank you again.

I have a few submissions that I'll be making tomorrow. I'll add Gerald's case to my list. I plan to place a call to the ME and Gerald's case manager to determine whether they've made a comparison. I'll let you know what I find out, if anything.;)

Thank you! I was just visiting the thread thinking that 11 plus years sure went by fast. Blink!

I'm happy to report that I've just spoken with Maureen Hume, Medicolegal Death Investigator @ the Massachusetts Office of Chief Medical Examiner. She hadn't personally been made aware of Gerald Peasha's submission as a potential match, but said that someone else in her office could have received and processed the information from my submission to NamUs. We briefly discussed the two cases. She has their case ID #s and will look into whether they've already been compared. If not, she will begin the comparison process. She can't be certain an exclusion will be listed on the NamUs profile or an identification announcement after determining whether these are Gerald's remains. She said it depends on the circumstances surrounding the deceased's death (i.e., homicide, accident, etc.) and the LE agencies involved (as we already know from other cases). So, at this point we can at least rest assured knowing that the PM submission is in the hands of the ME's office. Hopefully they'll move along as quickly as possible and will be able to determine whether these are Gerald's remains. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed! ;)

Thank you so much! Gerald's family deserves closure.
Thank you, thank you!

Hello Wonder Communty,

Has anyone heard of any updates?
I have not heard anything. I checked on Gerald's case the other day and noticed both his and the unidentified person's NamUs profiles are both still active. I hope they'll both be resolved soon. MOO
