In a telephone interview on Tuesday, Mendez’s mother, Michelle Murray Mendez, said she welcomed the arrest of Fleury, whom she has long held responsible for her daughter’s death.

[...]

“She wasn’t found, she decided to come up” from the Atlantic Ocean where the lobster traps were once used, Murray Mendez said. “I was going crazy not knowing where she was. Her return was something she did for me, to calm me.’’

shows Jaimee's mom passionate wish outside court

"And I hope my daughter is strong enough, like she was enough to come up on the beach, I hope she was strong enough to get in his head and torture him every day he's alive."

Hope you and yours are doing well. Thoughts and prayers continue for complete justice for Jaimee and your well being.

Yeah, he's in shock because the thought he got away with it!

Too bad the cops who drove him back couldn't hurt him in the back of the van the way he hurt Jaimee.

Yeah, the shock thing....pure posturing. He stated to the media he was interviewed multiple times, he was the last one to see her alive and he had been around the block when it comes to the criminal justice system. His attorney must not be very good on his feet, no offense, if that is the tact he is taking.

Try again.

I am sure my fellow sleuthers have felt this themselves, but with some cases you get a special sense of outrage and this is one for me. I knew this was a unique situation because I have rarely seen the outlay of expense right out of the gate in terms of resources. This was a big, focused, intense investigation. It was unflagging. Bringing in the specialists and all of the jurisdictions...LE was determined that there wasnt a tiny little detail or piece of evidence that was going to get past them. The secret grand jury was brilliant and I commend law enforcement.

I hope Jaimee's family knows now that this wont stop until the bar doors clang shut on this monster. I am hoping and praying that we arent looking at Jaimee being one of many....like her mom said, she rose up out of the ocean and she ensured that Fleury would be caught.

I was honestly on the fence about JF since he was questioned so many times and let go (plus all this time that's gone by). BUT, I'm so glad to see that the wheels of justice are now beginning to turn for Jaimee and her family. I hope they nail him with the strongest possible sentence for what he did to her.

Same here. Because of the lack of evidence that wasn't hearsay, and the misleading information being shared by the media, I was also unconvinced of his involvement, and wasn't going to incriminate a possibly innocent person just because of his past. However, now that more evidence has come to surface, and LE seems confident of his involvement, I do as well and hope he never has the ability to even set eyes on another woman for the rest of his pathetic life.

I am so glad he has been charged ,I feel 100 percent confident in the case that has been being built to this point. I do however wonder if he will plea out before a trial and save himself from having to face her family in court. MA has no death penalty .

Seems like in the past, he has leveraged himself out of trouble one way or another. That's not a direction that seems open to him anymore, with his going down for the first degree murder of a young mother whose strong spirit seems to move oceans.

I think he will want to plead with the possibility of parole and I think the DA will laugh hysterically and then say nope. I am outraged and I have no information from inside of the investigation...imagine how these folks feel. They showed to his arraignment. They went and picked him up themselves. They drove him back. He is done and not being remarkably stupid he knows this is the end of the line for him.

I never had a doubt, but understand why others did. I just felt when we saw such a pull out all of the stops effort, there was something very big and determined going on here. When the ME continued to keep Jaimee long after she showed herself, I hoped and prayed it was because they were minutely detailing her COD in a way that is irrefutable. Fleury is indeed fortunate that he is facing no DP.

Forget the death penalty. Like Michelle said, May he live for a hundred years so Jaimee can torture his every living hour.

Agreed, findjaimee. My very best to you and yours-you have represented Jaimee beautifully.

A long life for Fleury locked away from the world is a much more appropriate punishment. Murdering a petite single mother with significant diabetes wont put him at the top of the food chain I suspect.

I am not for death to atone for death. I am for the L-WOP. Let him suffer every day, worry about his own environment, his safety, his survival, his mind , his spirit, dropping the soap, looking over his shoulder, etc. FOR the REST (unrest) of his miserable LIFE.

Just my opinion. Thanks for weighing in findjaimee - you know we care about you and your family.

Love to you, honestly.

WHAT THE BLANK TOOK SO LONG!

MOO

She moves oceans. Sheesh FindHG. That reminded me of the picture of the waves at the sea wall. OY

This is the best news I have heard in sooooo long, and really has to bring some peace to the family. I can't help but think of the new "friends" he'll make in jail. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone on the inside will do to him what he did to Jaimee.

I've been reading as much as I can of the new stories to see if any new information has come out. This story says there was 1500 pages of information in discovery...I see a long trial in the future.

This one says the location of the "offense" was Danvers... has that city even been mentioned before??

LE knows a LOT more than we realized.
