Details of Disappearance​

Couto was last seen by a family member in Fairhaven, Massachusetts on January 2, 1992. At the time of his disappearance, he lived in the 1000 block of Cross Road in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. His grandmother got a call from him in 1993, but this is the last contact he ever had with his family.
Couto's family believes he may be still alive and somewhere in the southern United States. His case remains unsolved.

I wonder if this is the same "James Michael Cuoto"? The article does indicate once they found out the person's name that it was James Michael Cuoto, 23, from Massachusetts. The case file says "his family believes he may be still alive and somewhere in the southern United States". The article is out of Atlanta, GA.

That to me sounds like this is him. He went missing from MA in 1992 and was 22 years old. This article is from 1993 and says this James Michael Couto is 23 and from MA. It said he was indicted by a Grand Jury but I wonder how long he had to serve in jail?
