State and local police are investigating the apparent slaying of a 17-year-old girl in Fall River.
Police say the girl's body was found in a house in the North End section of Fall River early yesterday by a family member.
The Fall River Herald reports that, according to police, the slaying doesn't appear random.

Fall River police spokesman Lt. Jeffrey Cardoza said a "family member" found the victim about 7:30 a.m. inside the residence at 3817 N. Main St.
He said that person contacted police.
"It appears to be a homicide," Cardoza said, adding, "We dont believe this to be a random act."
