That was quite a mistake by Lally to elicit from JN that had she suspected what she 'saw' was a body that night she would have called 911 immediately. Yesterday she told Yanetti she put two and two together the next morning...so the P didn't anticipate Yanetti would jump up and ask her if she immediately called/spoke to the cops re her retrospective realisation? So focussed on protecting witness' moral reputation that he forgets to be alert to defense strategy?

The P's slip up just added weight to the oddness that JN's drunken sighting did not come out in a police interview until 8 months later. It makes me feel as an observer that she could have made it up either inadvertently or puposefully. Could be some on the jury will experience similar doubts. Moo

Jackson keeps asking about "sloppy" handling of DNA source material. But Kun says she can't speculate about how these samples were collected because she didn't observe that.


In previous testimony, the jury has heard a lot about the Albert family's dog Chloe, which the defense has tried to portray as "not good with strangers." But so far during the trial, the defense has not explicitly said Chloe attacked O'Keefe.

Not sure I agree. If the FBI's case had come to an end and it's conclusions - not just the evidence collected - supported that Karen Read didn't kill O'Keefe, it would be fair game to talk about the FBI investigation. Although I'd imagine the state would drop it's prosecution of Read if this had been the case.

While the FBI did share 3,000 pages worth of material, some of which the defense is clearly using, this appears to be a much larger, ongoing investigation and the Feds are being careful not let anyone know who might be a target.

With that said, judges generally do not allow defendants to willy nilly point the finger at other people when they're on trial. She's allowing the defense to skirt this with their questioning, probably because the FBI material really can't be denied - she has it. So basically the defense can let the jury come to their own conclusions based material the FBI shared, but they can't put anyone else on trial.

This witness was out of order, the idea that Chloe the dog may have been involved has not directly introduced to the jury

Next witness, Julianna Nagel’s brother Ryan.
Lally is detailing where Ryan was the night of 1/28.
He had about 8 drinks that night.

JULIE had shot him a text saying she'd like a ride home. He knew where her friend Brian's house was -- went over their with his friend Ricky and his ex GF. Ricky was driving his F150 with "suicide doors" The trio had been drinking at a bar - Ryan had 5-8 Coors Lites.

Ricky stopped the truck right in front of the driveway. Ryan saw a black SUV a car length ahead of him. He did not see anyone get out of the SUV.

RYAN says he saw the black SUV just ahead, and it moved forward. He saw the brake lights on. Julie testified yesterday she had seen the vehicle before her brother arrived...but indicated it was not there when she came out to the ford pickup. Inconsistency here
