Was very involved in baby’s life.
He was called “The Godfather”
She says OKeefe wanted to go on the Aruba trip with Karen, and his niece & nephew.
She did not know Karen.

They talked about the room setup.
Karen wanted her own bathroom, wanted two rooms.
She put her in contact with the person who had two rooms.
The rooms were on opposite sides of the hotel.

Sullivan: O'Keefe's family got two rooms on opposite sides of the hotel.

Sullivan says she ran into Read (whom she had not yet met face to face) and O'Keefe's niece at the hotel. That evening they wall went to dinner together.

Maybe to show KR is a crazy jealous person and a motive. I know, senseless and put this woman through painful memory and now to have lost JO and mainly, her son lost JO/who was his Godfather, a connection to his bio father and close to him, a constant.

People were taken aback.

She said she was honored to be there.

The judge gives instructions to the jury that what they are going to listen to should not be used as evidence to conclude that if she did this, she did what she is charged with.
It can only be used for state of mind.



What was your sister’s demeanor?

After she spoke with her sister
John came out, she says about 20 minutes later.
What did you talk about?



Judge gives another instruction:
This is only to to tell you OKeefe’s state of mind.


Laura Sullivan: I was shocked to see him.
I said did my sister & Karen have words?
He said I don’t know
His phone was lighting up.
She could see it was Karen.
I said do you need to take this?


The next day she says John told her apparently I made out with your sister.
The sister was dating someone and that person was on the trip, too.
How were Karen & John acting.
Karen floated in the ocean.
John was talking to people


One of her fav pictures of John was from that day, with her son, she says.
L Sullivan says John didn’t seem to be himself.
He seemed distant.
She asked are you happy.
He rolled his eyes and shrugged.
Said “it is what it is”
She says she told him life is too short.


The next day they were going on a boat ride, but John said the kids slept late.
John & Karen left Aruba early to get the kids to school.
Before they left, Karen apologized and said she thought she saw something she didn’t.
Offered to pay for her sister’s room.

Roberts again did not hear Lally. This is the third time in 11 minutes of questioning that the witness did not hear the question.

Kerry Roberts is the first witness in this trial that has shown this kind of emotion when talking about John and his death. It seems authentic. Jurors are watching her.
