Last sentence: meanwhile? I'm not capturing the real sense of this, but wasn't this already known for so long? And BKA did not get the photos yesterday...(if they may have leveraged the searches). Or something subliminal?

I don't know when it was updated but it used to refer to it as a missing persons case .

This from earlier in the year.

Operation Grange

On 12 May 2011 the Met announced that, at the request of the Home Secretary, it had agreed to bring its particular expertise to the Madeleine McCann case.

The then Commissioner, Sir Paul Stephenson, considered the request and took the decision that on balance it was the right thing to do. This was subject to funding being made available by the Home Office, as this case is beyond the Met’s jurisdiction.
Investigative review

The Met’s involvement, known as Operation Grange, is led by the Specialist Crime Command unit and involved, in the first instance, an ‘investigative review’. This was a review of all of the investigations that had been previously conducted into the circumstances of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
Ongoing investigation

In July 2013 the status of the Met’s enquiries changed to that of an investigation, working with the Portuguese authorities to pursue specific lines of enquiry.

The Portuguese authorities retain the lead and the Met continues to work in support of them.

The Home Office continues to fund Operation Grange.

I’ve read that twice and I can’t see where it refers to a missing person..?

Agree. ‘Meanwhile’ (unless I’ve translated wrong) would sound like they found this out recently, which can’t be the case because they already had this location down to search over a month ago.

"Buried under the body of his dead dog, the files had been kept dry in a Lidl bag and came with various other items, some of which it is understood directly implicate Brueckner in the abduction of Maddie."

One of those – who had been a friend of Brueckner’s since he first arrived on the Algarve in 1994 – told me how he had spent much of 2007 living on/off with a girlfriend, Nicole Fehlinger, in Foral.

While they immediately hit it off at a Christmas party in 2006, it was a ‘turbulent’ relationship, leading Brueckner to frequently go off for days on end alone.

Much of this was spent in his various camper vans by isolated beaches or down by his trio of inland reservoirs.

Sometimes going with friends, but mostly alone, his favourite was nearby Arade, which he ‘knew like the back of his hand’, said the pal, who is a key witness in the case.

“He would drive right down to the edge of the lake. He liked to be near the water,” she revealed this week.

“He always camped in the same spot, but I don’t know exactly what he did there as he was very secretive.

...

The friend, a German mother-of-two, who has lived on the Algarve for three decades, has been helping the BKA with their enquiries for a number of years.

She was even flown to the headquarters in Wiesbaden two years ago to officially pinpoint the spot where he camped at Arade.

“The most important thing detectives needed to know was exactly when and where he went by the lake. They made me pick it out on maps and aerial shots, which luckily I could do.
It was hard to give them exact times though, as it has been more than 25 years since I first met Christian.

“He came back and forth so many times I couldn’t tell them exactly when.

“We didn’t have smart phones back then, and it wasn’t actually important to me.

“Other witnesses had already pinpointed his trips to Arade reservoir and, in any case, I think they know everything about what happened in May 2007. I’ve just been helping join the dots.”

Re the JC disappearance I had a post removed as did not provide a
source , but it was from the McIntyre podcast and the info came from the family lawyer in the JC case.

These are Imo the most interesting points. 1. That GA knew what he was talking about when he mentioned the autobiographical diary (Das Buch) and this must be what JC refers to here

2 that this long friend of CB who has been to the HQs and provided evidence thinks that the BKA already know what happened and she was just helping them 'join the dots'

"What a smell" of CB also in this case...JMO

Am i the only one who thinks, that it could be interesting, that the british tabloids brought Martin N. into focus in 2019, but in 2020 he has been ruled out and the world got Christian B. into focus.

Both seem to be brothers in spirit to me...

You know Super from my posts years ago that I have always thought MN is involved somewhere in this case…at the very least I see him as someone who could have been a mentor…

I’m big on the theory that the concrete evidence is a confession of some form. This is a way that they can know details of the crime but struggle to charge it.

I saw this in a no body murder case in America where they couldn’t get the confession on a wire.

If you can’t prove elements of the confession via corroborating evidence it is not likely to be enough to convict.

I have always thought MN and CB was involved with one another. Not necessarily linked to MM.
Hmmm, one has a predilection for the male of the species, boys it seems the other female of any age.
