Arguments made:
-Chase Merritt's gambling
-Chase Merritt was only person of interest with a connection to the High Desert
-Chase Merritt's truck was consistent with truck captured by neighbor's surveillance
-Chase Merritt wrote fraudulent checks on McStay Quickbooks account
-Chase Merritt's phone pings a cell tower near the graves on Feb. 6
Arguments made:
-Chase Merritt's Truck is excluded from the truck captured on neighbor's surveillance
-Chase Merritt wrote checks on QuickBooks per victim Joseph McStay's instruction
-Whoever killed the McStays did not know the high desert, rather the spot for the graves was chosen because it was the first area when driving north from the McStay home suitable for burying bodies
-The ping evidence that the state asserts places Chase at the graves on the 6th is not precise.
You are welcome. What I hope will happen here is that evidence will be vetted. And that a discussion can emerge from the evidence. This case is so intricate, with plot twists for days, it seems a shame not to get to know all the evidence as completely as we can. And this goes beyond just testimony, but the science being presented is such that it might help one better understand what transpires in cases looked at in the future.
