O.K. Miss Izzy where did you see this? Noooooooooooooooo. Please do not tell me the guy strapped that poor child to a board.

My heart breaks for that baby. Dear Lord please let her get the right help.

The little girl walked on her own to the neighbor's house. She was not rescued from her place of assault. I read it to mean that Westfall strapped her onto something. Why?

Izzy I am sorry. I had read that and maybe subconciously passed it over.

No, I think you're right. Wouldn't her mom say she was strapped to a gurney or a cot or bed?

Poor little baby and she didn't cry. That creep probably got angry she didn't cry. Maybe that saved her from death? Maybe he unstrapped her?

Who could even begin to wonder what that evil monster did or why he did it?

He left his "girl" a note. Ain't that swell? He didn't want to cause her any problems. Geez he's a model citizen. I'm thankful she turned him in.
 
I really think that the public needs some sort of explanation of the motive here. Westfall had 746 friends just on MS. A lot of them had children. People need to know what this guy was all about.

I'm not going to be real happy if he pleads down and skulks away. We need some insight here.
 
She was probably strapped to a back board by EMT's and would have still been on it when her mother saw her.

I agree! It sound like he made a statement to LE.
I just pray the little boy didn't see what this monster did to this little girl:furious:

Has far has the motive...I hope it comes out soon.

With this case and Paula Ream... I read up on the cults and all the great links that was provided here from other posters. Places I didn't want to take my computer.

I still find it weird within a week we had this abduction and a little girl
remains stolen from her grave. And just about 160 miles apart.
But a least this perp in behind bars.
 
Just to help everyone understand exactly what the mom meant.....

She did mean that her daughter was strapped to a gurnery by the EMT's. Westfall didn't strap her down. When they took the mom to the hospital her daughter was still strapped down for safety.

And like others I did to think his girlfriend had to have something in it. I do commend her for turning him in.
 
It is continuing to sound like he didn't have the chance or chose not to sexually assault her. That is certainly something to be thankful for. However, if that wasn't the motive, what was? Very odd.
 
Way to go, little Miss O!!! I'll bet that Momma just glowed as she wrote that thank you letter. We all know what ran through her mind when her baby went missing. An awful lot of people were heros here but it all comes back to a brave little girl who stayed strong.

Trust me, Miss O will join us in about 15 years. She's already got her "own cop", after all. That tells me that her family and the local police are really trying to empower her. The bad guys better watch out as I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that she's become a cop herself.

Prayers to this sweetie. I think of her so often.

Faces charges of assault and attempted murder


"Accused child abductor Stephen Westfall pleaded not guilty to the kidnapping and attempted murder of a 6-year-old girl during a Tuesday morning hearing in Allegany County Circuit Court.

Westfall, 45, of Arch Street remains at the Allegany County Detention Center where he is being held without bond. The court set a Nov. 30 trial date for Westfall.

Last month, when Westfall was indicted on six counts by a grand jury, he told the court, “I am grateful for still being alive with all the harm I have caused to the little girl and everybody...."

Isn't it just amazing listening to criminals frame their thoughts--do their spin? As per the usual he places his own safety ahead of the victim's. He's grateful to be alive. I also think what he did to Miss O goes far beyond "harm".
 
Missed the updates on this raging lunatic. However good news is the little girl is doing O.K. Her mom says she has her moments, but will probably get through all this better than mom herself.

Westfall has a criminal history. Figures. He also owes money to addiction specialists. Sets fires and owes other loot to quite a few people.

The picture of this guy is frightening enough. He says he's been on Xanax since before the attack. Sooooooo what? Half the free world is on Xanax and they don't abduct children and strap them to boards and hit them in the head with rocks.

I am still shocked beyond belief that the little girl lived through that horrid ordeal. Westfall totally creeped me out from the moment this story broke. I don't understand why he wasn't charged with a sex crime. He stripped the child naked.

I hope the child gets the best of therapy. We know that she will indeed remember this event and she'll have to "revisit" it and the media attention over and over throughout her life. I have a sense that she's a true survivor but she needs lots of help staying in that space.
 
For some reason this case popped into my head today. I have to see what amount of time this "person" got.
