Harford jurors in Advanced Granite shooting murder trial hear closing arguments, begin deliberating

On Tuesday, Assistant State’s Attorney Timothy Doory pointed to the video of the shooting, where Prince appears to gather his co-workers together before shooting several of them, as the most compelling evidence. He noted that Prince shoots a man on the ground, fires across the shop and calmly walks out after the shooting is done.

A note that Prince allegedly left in his home’s bathroom figured prominently in the prosecution’s closing remarks. Doory said it was evidence of Prince’s intent to carry out the shooting. The note, purportedly for his girlfriend LaKendra Harris, read “if I don’t make it home, please know that I tried.”

Prince, who testified on his own behalf last week, has said the note was written before he moved to Georgia to look for work. He also disputes that it was found in the bathroom, saying he put it in his nightstand.

After more than a week of testimony, the jury began deliberating shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Because of COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, the jury is deliberating in the same courtroom where evidence was heard.

If Prince is found guilty of the charges, the trial will advance to its next phase, where the jury will hear evidence about whether or not Prince is criminally responsible for the alleged acts.

Dang - that's the Baltimore Sun & can't access it over here - even with my Outline...

So they started deliberations at 3pm - does it say when they quit for the day? 5pm? maybe.

And it seems that is the only paper covering this trial....

Can anyone access the Baltimore Sun? I can't - and they have had updates on the trial - the latest - Prince too the stand on Thursday... that's all I could read from my google alert.

Anyone??

Fatal workplace shooting suspect testifies in his murder trial in Maryland

Radee Prince took the stand Thursday to testify in his murder trial in Maryland.

In his testimony Thursday, Prince admitted he fired the gun five times. He said he shot one man because "he made a threatening gesture."

Prince said he only used the gun in the attack and had never fired it before then. He testified that the gun jammed at one point during the shooting.

On Friday, Prince confessed to the crime. During Friday's testimony, Prince said he was remorseful for the attack. When asked how many shots were fired inside the warehouse, Prince became frustrated saying: "I admitted that I shot five people. I don't know what else you want to me to say."

Prince is already serving a 40-year prison sentence for shooting a man in Delaware on the same day.

GUILTY!!! Just got an alert - and an article I can see! :)

Harford County jury convicts Radee Prince in 2017 deadly mass workplace shooting

October 28, 2020
EDGEWOOD, Md. — A Harford County jury on Wednesday found a man guilty of carrying out a deadly 2017 workplace shooting.
[.....]
Although Prince is now convicted of three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder, the very same jury will determine if he's criminally responsible.

A Harford County jury will continue deliberations Monday to determine whether Radee Labeeb Prince can be held criminally responsible for his actions when he shot five of his co-workers — three fatally.

Prince, 40, was found guilty Wednesday of three counts of first-degree murder, two of attempted first-degree murder and two firearms violations for the Edgewood workplace mass shooting.

The jury of nine women and three men deliberated for nearly seven hours Friday without reaching a verdict on Prince’s criminal responsibility in the shooting for which they found him guilty.

Maybe there is his sentencing in the article?

Sentencing for Prince has not yet been scheduled.

Prince could face up to a life sentence without parole for each of the three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, plus up to 25 additional years in prison for the remaining charges.

However, Prince will first serve a sentence in Delaware before returning to Maryland for whatever sentence Judge Yolanda Curtin imposes.

Prince was sentenced to 40 years in a Delaware state prison after being found guilty of attempted manslaughter there for shooting of Rashan “Jason” Baul in the face after leaving the Advanced Granite Solutions shooting and driving to Wilmington to confront him.
