The husband was acting odd.

There are also people who were friendly with them.

OMG After the wifes Disappearance the Husband of this couple Jim and Susan, saw the husband of Michelle with a Bag Of Money
on his way to the casino saying he was going to go and see if he could change his luck :eek:

And according to Jim there are unsubstantiated rumors (at this stage) that the husband was seen covered in blood and that there was a man a woman and another person in bathrobes outside the door..(all unsubstantiated)

Well, I'm also wondering who the "family" is. Is it the husband? I can't imagine someone's family coming forth with this sort of statement this quickly. Granted, I'm sure the family knows more than we know, but at this point LE hasn't even labeled this as a suicide. Why would they put that out there?

Seitz had "previous emotional issues," yet there were no outward signs of distress while on the seven-night cruise from Miami, her family said in a statement given to one of her former employers, The News Chief in Winter Haven. Seitz's mother joined her daughter and son-in-law on the cruise.

"Jennifer was in a very happy and uplifted mood both before and during the cruise," the Ellis family said in the statement. "She was excited about starting a new job and her future career with a local newspaper. She and her husband had been talking about starting their family. The family suspects that Jennifer chose an unfortunate ending to her life. She was a beautiful and caring person and will be truly missed by all who love her."

Seitz and her husband, Raymond, were celebrating their one-year anniversary on the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship.

Isn't it odd that he stayed on the ship? I mean, isn't this a time when you would arrange to fly home to be with family?

Ive been on a couple of cruises myself and you would absolutely need something to get you over.

I dont believe she committed suicide.

Starting a new job, wanted a family, sucsessful in losing all that weight. No way was this suicide

I agree with you Jane, no way is it a suicide. I feel this husband had a hand in this, heck he was arrested in April for head butting her (OUCH !)they had only been married a few months. I sure hope the tapes show something and the truth comes out. Way to many people going over board on these boats.....almost the perfect crime.

The article at the first link is full of contradictions. First it says her family believes she committed suicide, then it says that she was in a great mood before and during the cruise and that she and RS were talking about starting a family and that she was looking forward to starting her new job, but then says they think she "chose an unfortunate ending to her life." It then says that her marriage was on the rocks, and goes on to say the RS was arrested earlier this year for domestic violence, to which he admitted

So, was she happy and in high spirits? Most people don't commit suicide when they are in a good mood. Was her marriage on the rocks or were they planning to start a family?

The domestic violence bit doesn't really surprise me, and it jibes with the allegations that people in the cabin below them heard a woman screaming at someone not to hit her.

I guess I am just cynical- I don't understand why someone who is in high spirits, all ready to start a family and a new job, and already packed for a trip to spend New Year's eve in Manhattan would jump overboard on a ship. Plus it just seems like a really, really wretched way to kill yourself. It had to have been horrible, no matter how it happened.

The devil's advocate in my brain, though, agrees with MY husband, who says that if I wasn't in our cabin, he wouldn't automatically start a search- he would assume I was elsewhere on the ship. I did tell him that if he waited 5 hours to start a search for me, I would haunt him forever.

And I wonder, why do they have all those cameras if nobody is monitoring them? What is the point of having a camera watch for things/people going overboard if you don't look at it until it is too late to rescue someone?????? :confused:

I'm sorry for her family, including her husband if he really had nothing to do with it, but it just seems really off. I hope the FBI really does a thorough investigation.
 
Wow, Claudajo--that's pretty important, about the domestic violence.

One of the websites linked from Steve's blog mentions her wedding rings were found on a table in the cabin. I'm really afraid they're giving that too much significance. If she was in a robe or nightie, she may have just taken a shower, and many people (like me) take jewelry off for that.

On the other side (in hubbie's defense), according to their own blogs, she outweighed him by 15 pounds, so he may not have had a huge physical advantage.

Agree about the rings


Well thats not really a defence, men can still be way stronger even with a weight difference especially if they get a few punches in.

What if she WAS Drugged ? with some hypnotic type drug - you know - "Go jump off the boat - you are a loser - etc

Who knows but I do NOT believe this was a willing suicide - UH UH NO WAY !

:clap: Thank you! I have been wondering this all along. It's not like they're anti-theft cameras. I know that many sites have a streaming live video so you can see your friends on a cruise if you're home and you log on to one of the stream sites. Was this the purpose of the camera?
 
I think the comment from the husband is more than curious to the other passenger not to mention going to gamble the day after his wife goes missing!! WTH?!

Also, there is reference on his surgery support page (a couple references, actually) to a wife he had during the surgery in 2002, which was obviously someone besides Jennifer. ETA that his ex's name is mentioned on his blog. Not sure it makes any sense to name her as she obviously had nothing to do with any of this. (The only reason I mentioned JS's ex is because the wedding page I linked to had lots of info about her and his name was on it, along with his pic.)
