Searching but seeing nothing new. Please be safe...
Searching but seeing nothing new. Please be safe...

If the "bad guys" did get him, missing Albertan Peter Driedger has plenty of company, and tragically little chance of ever being found, alive or otherwise.
Driedger was last seen doing what any Taber-raised farm kid might do on a Sunday morning, having finished the dawn chores on his parents farm, where the 28-year-old grain manager was staying as he helped his folks tend their land.
After that, Driedger went off to the local church, a regular habit for the clean-living, Mennonite-raised young man, who never drank or smoked, and whose only regular habit was making friends with pretty much everyone he met.
That was more than three weeks ago, and there's been no trace of Driedger since.
It would be a worrisome situation anywhere, but it's positively grim when you consider the farm is just outside Cuauhtémoc, Mexico, a small city 300-km south of Texas that Amnesty International has condemned as having the highest rate of disappearance in the country.
"So far, they've found the vehicle he was in, but they can't find him," says John Driedger, Peter's brother.
Cannot seem to find any updates for Shawn, however this recent news concerns another Canadian who is missing in Mexico.

Aside from the abrupt termination of contact with his wife after August 31, Ms. Sareeta feels it is also unusual that her brother would be out of contact with his grandfather, the well-known Punjabi folk singer Hazara Singh Ramta, who is now in his early 90s.
“Shawn is obsessed with his grandfather,” says Ms. Bassuta. “He’s never gone more than a few days without calling him.”

[h=1]Is Mexico getting more dangerous for Canadian tourists?[/h]
[h=3]Drug cartels and violent crime are rampant, but there are 'bubbles' of safety, expert says[/h] By Nicole Ireland, CBC News Posted: Jan 17, 2017
The country tends to have "bubbles," he said, which are "safe" and "have lower homicide rates than many cities in Canada and especially the United States." Those places include Playa de Carmen and nearby Cancun, he said, as well as Puerto Vallarta on Mexico's west coast.
"You have these places — the [Mexican] government has [a] vested interest in keeping them safe," McKay said, "so it spends a lot of money in security forces to make sure tourists can fly in, spend their money and fly out."
But the key to maximizing safety, he said, is to stay within the resorts.
The danger for tourists in Mexico is "being in the wrong place in the wrong time — because if you stay within these bubbles, your chances of encountering a violent or unpleasant incident are the same or less than if you're at home, for the most part."
