All MOO, but I imagine what the defense is focusing on is trying to prove (or even just suggest) that LE illegally obtained FG's DNA or some other such nonsense. I'm sure something related to the other case that currently has him sitting in jail. The judge is likely playing this completely by the book and allowing these delays because he's safely behind bars and they want to avoid anything that could later cause the case to be thrown out.
 
Just came here to check the status of this case. DS and I are the same age and lived/worked in the same area, and this case really affected me - I can't believe she still has not been found, and that the trial is pushed back to 2022. Praying for this strong, incredible family.

Galloway has a pretrial hearing on 11/15/21.

Agreed. It had seemed to me that the Stislicki family has a decent relationship with a few reporters who were dedicated to telling Dani's story. I was hoping someone might stay on top of it and share updates. I am sure there will be more coverage when the trial actually starts.

It might be that her parents are grateful not to have the spotlight on the trial so that they don't have to contend with lots of attention and press requests during this difficult time.

Good point! I can't imagine how difficult it is for the family, especially that Dani still has not been found and the trial keeps getting delayed.

Friday 5pm -- I can't believe it's been nearly five years since Danielle Stislicki has been gone. Tonight I sit down with her uncles to talk about how the push to #finddani has changed to #justicefordani and I'll update the case for about what happened this week in court . There have been many delays in Galloway’s murder trial. There have been new lawyers, the coronavirus pandemic and Galloway’s attorney has complained about not receiving all the needed documentation. That complaint could delay the Jan. 4 trial date that is scheduled.

Jan. 4 trial date could be delayed

Family members of Danielle Stislicki are speaking out about her mysterious disappearance and the fight for answers.

Danielle Stislicki walked out of her office on Dec. 11, 2016, and was never seen again. Her body was never found. Floyd Galloway, a former security guard who worked in her office, has been charged in her murder.

Her family is preparing for trial and acknowledging that they may never find her body. But they will not stop fighting for justice...

*Status Conference Hearing (@ 11:30am ET) - MI - Danielle “Dani” Stislicki (28) (Dec. 2, 2016, Southfield, not found) - *Floyd Russell Galloway, Jr. (30/now 32) charged (9/11/19) & indicted (3/4/19) & arraigned (3/6/19) & re arraigned (9/19/19) with 1st degree premeditated murder. Plead not guilty. Bond denied-Held without bond.
Trial was set to begin on 10/12/21 continued to 1/4/22.

7/21/21 Update: Order filed re media coverage. Next status conference hearing on 7/26/21. 7/23/21: Order: Filed re media coverage. 7/26/21 Update: Oakland County Circuit Judge Phyllis McMillen pushed back the trial to early 2022 after defense attorney Ellen Michaels relayed that she needed more time to pursue materials that could help her defend Galloway. She told McMillen during a July 26 hearing that she has been seeking possibly pertinent emails from the City of Farmington Hills case through the Freedom of Information Act. Judge McMillen advised Michaels to tighten her FOIA request or perhaps file a FOIA suit. But she granted Michael’s request for more time to prepare for the high-profile murder trial concerning a body that has not been found. Judge McMillen canceled the Oct. 12 trial & said the next possible dates are in 2022. Next year’s docket is not yet available, and no decisions were made. Judge McMillen scheduled a pretrial conference on 11/15/21. 7/27/21: Scheduling Order filed re Motion in Limine.
10/12/21: Brief re support motion/defendant filed. Motion for supplemental discovery/evidence hearing for defendant filed.
